Is Placenta Previa Occurs Again in Second Pregnancy

Hi,

I had complete Placenta Previa in my First Delivery and delivered a girl baby through C-Sec... Now my Gyena. ( First delivery's Dr) told me 60% of chances again in second Pregnancy too...Got opinion in Another Dr.. she told no chances... Then i read and got info. through Net...Chances are more in Second Pregnancy also..

If any one have like this problem or crosses like this Problem...please share your Experience... Am totally confused and worried...

Ooviya: I had partial previa with first pregnancy which resolved towards delivery and I delivered normally my first. With my second I didn't have any.

Dear Ooviya,

I too had Placenta Previa in my first pregnancy which resolved towards delivery and in second one I didn't have this problem.But do take care have lots of bed rest...this is what my doctor told me.

Dear OP,

I learned that having c-section, D&C or previous placenta previa pregnancy increases the chances of previa in the subsequent pregnancies. But it doesn't mean that it will happen again for sure. Just the chances are little elevated.

My sis had placenta previa in first pregnancy & had C- section. But in second pregnancy, she didn't have any such problem. So, don't worry.

placenta previa comes based on where the fertilized embryo lands in uterus! If it implants in the lower part of uterus, it might bring placenta previa! It has no connection with last pregnancy! Hope this helps!
