Touching MIL's feet everyday

She gave birth & raised dh. Pester him to join you daily. He will force you to stop.

 

Stop it immediately. If she asks, please tell her, you don't think it is necessary to touch ANYONE's feet. If she asks in front of your spouse, please tell the same- I am not comfortable doing so. Please don't bring the discussion of touching only God's feet, or your husband touching your mother's feet etc. These are NOT the reasons. Your reason is you are not interested and you think it is unnecessary.

Sometimes, it is better to take firm stand.

Firstly I understand the goodness in you, you started touching feet. Thats ok dont feel guitly about it. God is watching!!!!!

Secondly STOP touching her feet from today. Go to GOD who ever you believe touch GOD's feet and say ' SORRY GOD AINT TOUCHING MY MILS FEET FROM TODAY, ONLY BECAUSE SHE IS CAUSING PROBLEMS BETWEEN ME & DH'

Then girl!! prepare for maximum fight or evil looks or even more, thats ok it aint going to last long. Stop touching her feet as daily morning routine, this itself is a big slap on her face She will get the point that She lost your respect. BAM !!!!

Cool girl is right. actually, just stop touching feet one fine day. nothing needs to be said. get busy in the kitchen, getting ready for work, pretend you forgot. she will remind you, do a "oooh i forgot' act- namesake bend a little, next day, forget again... and again.. and again... she will get tired of reminding you and then yay!!

you can touch your husbands feet if you really wish to, but MIL, save it be just for special occasions.

 

Touching husband's feet is as regressive as touching MIL's feet.

it is a hindu custom afterall.

and the question here is, not whether touching your MIL's feet is derogatory or not. op does not wish to do so, because she might not be liking her MIL too much.

if out of love and respect someone touches their husband's feet, i don't see it as crime against women.

i was just suggesting that if she so likes to touch the MIL'S feet everyday, she would rather just touch her DH's feet.

I touched feet of so many people at my marriage ceremony that there might even be few strangers feet in the middle...
