    Thats perfectly normal.

17-18 months would be fine to start with.Let me warn you food time will be very messy. Its around 2 yr when they get a better grip over their spoons. But if your baby likes to feed herself then let her do it.
Just try this link for further suggestions

how to add dry fruits to milk, we need to just grind it in equal amounts and mix with warm milk or is there any other way...

I use to mix almond paste I made at home with food for my kid, but my mom keep telling nuts give heat to the body so I stop giving him that time, I do want to give him some nuts but don't know which one would be better making sure that he doesn't suffer from taking this.. I do give him soaked almonds he seems to like it but doesn't eat thoroughly he just bite it for a while then spits it out, even with apple too he do the same thing...please pass me your suggestions/advices...

    Hi,

My kid(1 year & 8 months) is lactose intolerant. In the recent days, I am noticing that, if I give dhal (moong/toor) rice daily, he passes loose stools. If I stop dhal rice for the next 3-4 days, then stool becomes normal again. My friend says giving dhal rice daily may cause gas(in tamil we say 'mandham'). Is it true? He is underweight. I am scared of trying egg or non veg items as he has a very sensitive stomach.

    Thanks.

lovely, I have not heard of dal rice causing loose stools but maybe he is just very sensitive. Can you give alternate days instead for protein intake? Perhaps rasam?
since he is 1.5 years now, you can start with 1/4 hard boiled egg yolk.

Yes all the pulses do cause gas.
So to avoid it you can cook daal with garlic or with a pinch of asafetida.
