Provide me some diet for acidity and gas

    Hi all,

    I am suffering from acidity and gas. Provide me some diet for that.i cant eat a little spicy food too.

    Count me too.I'm having Reflux acidity for the past one year.Its after my Thyroid surgery.:hide:
    If I bend to pick something from the floor,OMG....immediate burning sensation from chest to throat.:bonk

    Once had Nimboose drink....No word to express my suffering.For me having lemon juice is a tremor.:shaking:

    And its more important Don't ever fill your stomach fully.Always half way.This will avoid the acidity/gas shooting upwards.

    Never skip meals.Avoid Long intervals.The emptiness of the stomach aggravate acidity..
    Take food at proper intervals.Acquire the habit of taking up something in between like biscuits, fruits as a break time.
    These are My Doc's advise.

    Definitely you have to avoid the spicy/masala items completely.Go for bland food items.

    I'm avoiding citrus fruits,deep fried food,food with yeast/B.powder(bread,cakes)

    Have Fruits like water melon, grapes, grape fruit, mash melon, etc. with a high water content and help to reduce acidity attacks.

    Have handful of nuts and dried fruits.(this is my all time meal):biggrin2:

    The medium hot sip of tea makes me feel the burning sensation.So better avoid anything too hot.

    Have plenty of buttermilk(add more of water)Only one glass at a time.

    Much On-fresh cucumber slices.Soothing relief.

    For immediate relief
    chew a clove.
    Have a glass of ginger+honey in lukewarm water.

    Will come out if any tip comes to my mind.

    Nice tips Yashikushi.I had severe gastric issues when I was physically in active and ate lots of spicy food.Drinking more water helped me a lot in recovering plus little bit of walking.

    put garlic in your food,like add 1-2 garlic Cloves in the curries and all.

    So far I know to stop acidity and gas the main rule to follow is .....

    EATING at PROPER and EXACT TIMINGS DAILY solves the problem.

    For me it is taking 1 glass of butter milk with 1 spoon of jeera powder.It gives me immediate relief.

    Let me add one more tip here

    When Moukthika mentioned about jira I thought of mentioning about Jira water and kashay which gives me instant relief from gastric.

    1. Jira Kashay(Jiraka Kashayam in Malayalam)

    Dry roast jira in a kadai - It should not turn black

    Now pour some water,say 2 glasses.Boil water till it becomes 1 glass.Now drink it when it is little bit hot.This gives me immediate releif.

    2. Jira Water

    Make jira water and drink it throughout the day- Boil water with little jira and boil it,drink this instead of water.

    For acidity simplest home remedy is eat a little sweet after eating spicy food.That neutralizes the effect of spices.And also saunf is an alkaline food so a pinch of saunf would also give relief.

    one more tip for acidity....eat small piece of jaggery after a meal,,it will give u relief.

    Eating two scoops of plain vanilla ice cream also helps a lot. Munch a handful of raisins to get relief from acidity.

    having sweet after meal????spicy or Not,
    Sweet is the meal for me most of the time.:crazy

    Dunno how,but grown with the habit of having something sweet immediately after each meal,if nothing at home atleast 2-3 dry grapes.

    Now DS into same pattern.:biggrin2:

    And sanuf..of course plain sanuf,sweet sanuf,clove,etc....Fed of munching.

    Now I'm following precautionary stand out...eating up something every half an hr.
    Acidity under control.:)
    while going out never forget the package of biscuits,sliced cucumber,etc....

    Sometime(very rare) the GHOST shoot up even after these my safe-guard.
    No way,just swallow a pill.This will keep me safe till the next attack.:roll:
