Trying to create local cooking club at Bakersfield

    I just moved to Bakersfield, CA from the Bay Area and I have no friends here! I am hoping to meet people with like interests by creating a cooking club. I figured I would mention it here, as well as posting fliers locally and I am going to try out this site: hivepals because it seems like it can be used to broadcast searches for people with like interests across all my online profiles. Any other ideas?

    Hope your cooking club is in shape now.
    Posting flyers at apartment bulletin boards, stores and clubs is a good idea.
