Glycomet during pregnancy

Hi,

I am 31 weeks pregnant now and have taken up GTT last week. Report says that my sugar level pp 1hr is 190 which is above the normal limit. So my gynec advised me to take glycomet? can i consume glycomet during pregnany? will it have side effects on baby? If i dont take that tablet what will be the effect of sugar level increase on my baby?

Please suggest. Am really afraid of this.
