My husband has advised me to eat ragi mixed with water and splenda every day. How to make this taste sweet? I had today for the first time and had a difficult time eating it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You can add jaggery to it.
First take 2 spoons and mix in water till it dissolved properly then you can place it on stove. Add jaggery that time

How did you eat ragi? There are many ways to eat ragi.. the most popular version, is the porridge...

1.Make a paste of ragi powder with water so that it is semi thick and does not have lumps.
    2. You can boil water or milk and add this mixture while you are stirring it continoussly.
    3. Add dry fruits, especially raisins , sugar/jaggery, if you want.
    4. Adding a pinch of cardamom powder gives a nice aroma.

You can also skip putting sugar and use salt instead for a salty version of porridge.

You may get bored eating in the porridge form..

Here are other recipes for ragi, discussed in indusladies...

With 1 or 2 handful of ragi flour add 2 tsp of suji and salt. Mix all with water to a dosa batter consistency and leave it to set for 1 or 2 hours. Make dosas by adding chopped onion, green chilly and coriander leaves. It goes well with chutney. You can add 2 tsp of oats also to the batter.

I started taking raagi koozh everyday morning nowadays. The procedure to do it is,

First take the required amount of raagi powder and mix it with water and salt. Avoid lumps and let it be watery.
Then put it on stove and boil it. Keep stiring it without leaving it for a minute.
After sometime it would turn to a thick paste of darker color.
You can actually eat it with some curry but I prefer the other way of doing it.
I take this paste, mix buttermilk, little water and salt and mix it in mixer.

Then you can drink it. Though you dont feel like eating raagi you still get it nutritions.
