Dear mami, Tried Corn Cutlet and dates kheer for the week end. DD is having quarterly exams and I wanted to make something which she likes as she is a poor eater. She chose cutlet (from the list of samosa, curd vadai etc for evening snack ) and since she likes dates, so I made dates kheer. Both were my first attempts and she loved both. I liked the cutlet more, it came out crispy on the outer and soft inside. I did shallow frying on the pan. Thanks mami Ps - Varloo- I read your pm, I am not able to send pm as I think there is some restriction since I should have sent 10 msgs in the last one month for becoming eligible for replying. The chakkavaratti was from my home grown varikkan chakkai at Tvm, made by my amma. Other details , I will pm you once I reach the 10 msg slab.
Dear Radhi, Thanks for the FBs. Besides being to her taste, dates kheer is nuitritious too!! Now for all tikkis, cutlets etc, I have shifted to shallow frying with all virgin oils available!!
Dear Chithra, Just back from Coimbatore after attending convocation . I did not like the food in train so carried aloo paratha and the vegan loaf. Paratha was so soft . Also carried some veg sandwiches. Now must get yeast from Venus so that I can make bread.
Dear C, Here is the picture of Apple Nut Dessert prepared by my DH verbatim of your recipe. Eating them was a joy! Nice crust, melted apples, pudding warmth ..it was best. Weekend was totally hectic with office work and we decided to unwind with good food yesterday night. I prepared roti/kurma and DH made the dessert. I thank you so much for listing out so many english dessert recipes. I prefer them to SI sweets because they are much easier to assemble and less time taking.
Hridhaya, unbelievably amazing close up. Looks so, so, so yummy!! Nice to know that your DH lent a helping hand!! May his tribe increase
Dear Chithramma, Yesterday made Baby Potato Roast. Both the kids love the roast as well as potato marinated in curd. I get to roast whatever is left after they finish off the marinated ones. so I ended up making white pumpkin raita as well. Both these dishes make for a ideal sunday lunch. Today made Chinese noodles for DD's lunch box, so easy to make & she was very happy as well. :bowdown Love, Damini.
