    Dear Suga ,

    Welcome to UK.

You would find several brands of pressure cooker in Indian stores.Mind, they are expensive when compared to India and I have seen a lot of Indians who purchase pressure cooker back in India instead of buying it here.

Coming to the brands, I have seen 'Prestige' available in most of the Indian stores but as I said it would be priced in pounds and the one I have seen was around 99 pounds.Hope this information is useful.

    Hi Suga:

Like Sabitha mentioned, you will get pressure cookers at Indian stores. Also, you get them in local stores like Tesco and Argos. You may or may not get Indian brands. However, a friend of mine bought at a local store (cannot remember if it was Tower or Tefal brand) and she was quite happy with it - she was doubly pleased since the cooker didn't whistle:) and make a noise! Sorry, I cannot remember the price.

    Hope this helps.

I agree with you - neither did I know about Argos having a good range of pressure cookers until my friend said she bought her pressure cooker in the UK!! I was surprised!

Hi, this is Bhargavi, currently in Bangalore, India.
I will have to move to Bristol as part of my assignments(working in IT company).

Please advise if i could get any decent place to live-in, like a small apartment, PG or something... I wud have to be there for a year or so.. my work place would be Aztec West, Almondsbury.

Also advise what things like this should i get from India- like Pressure cooker, electrical gadgets, etc.. would like to pack away all what i require for my year long stay.

Looking forward for some help and advise.

    Thanks in advance!!

    Cheers :)
