@Rakhii, she didn't have teeth when she started to chew chapathis. Now, she has just one tooth but she likes to chew food, hates pureed stuff. Their gums would be quite hard which helps them to chew.

@Nandhu, thanks for the tips. My DH hates adais, so I usually don't make them at home. I want to start for my DD. I'll soak everything and put it in fridge, as you suggested.

Breakfast-Sath mavu kanji and cerelac(ate very little). tried feeding idli, DS was eager to eat it but threw up after the second bite. :-(
He hates kanji now, so make it thick like kesari bath.
Now he is in a stage where he has started hating pureed foods, and expects semi-mashed stuff, but he cannot chew it properly or is in a hurry to gulp it down resulting in throwups , sometimes he gets bored and stops eating after 3-4 bites. he eats if i try to feed him while he is busy playing but i dont want to start that habit. difficult phase!
Lunch-Sweet pumpkin, knol khol.carrot and karamani with rice and dal
    Snack-Apple
    Dinner-same as lunch and breakfast

Yesterday I was one HAPPY MOM as he started eating adult food,(this was the reason for throwing tantrums to eat) he loves DOSA and has no patience to let it get done when its on tawa, he keeps watching it and screams till it is done and the moment i take it out of tawa, he has his mouth open to eat, doesnt even let it cool :-D but this eagerness to eat is very shortlived,:hide: takes hardly 4-5 bites and stops! so its like no to baby food and very litttle of our food. just waiting for this phase to pass.:bowdown

@thanks a lot Karanu. Just one more question on Chapati; what if she doesn't chew and chokes on it? If she chokes, what can I do to prevent suffocation? Any tips?

@Rakhii If she does not chew and chokes on it, leave it for the time being. You can start back later. If not, then soak it dal or some warm liquid to make the chapathi soft.

    Todays menu

    Breakfast: Adai (did not eat)
Lunch: pumpkin-carrot thogayal sadam (ate 25%), cauliflower curry
Snack: chocolate cookie, gerber cinnamon crunchies
Dinner: slept off early so no dinner

    Dear Rakhi
What we did was to soak fresh hot chapathi in little milk and leave it for 5 minutes later squeeze it till it gets ganji consistency that way baby wont choke... to this you can add few drops of ghee, a pinch of salt...

    Dear ChotaBheem...
Congrats on yet another milestone... and it speaks a lot about your yummy meals...:thumbsup

@Rakhii, try giving tiny pieces. If she still chokes, then you can dip in dal water and try.

    Yesterday's menu:
    breakfast - dosa
    midmorning snack - banana
lunch - rice, masoor dhal, palak, potato, beetroot fry
    snack - biscuit, bread toast
    dinner - rice cereal

Thanks Ramya, VJ and Karanu. Will try it over the weekend when hubby is also at home.
But she might slowly accept Chapati as I have started giving her solids in thicker consistency and with more texture. While I still purée food, it's not as soft as before.

    Dear Friends,

Wonderful and useful thread. Thanks for all the moms who post here. :bowdown

I also have a question. Most say ate little bit, half etc. Do you try to feed her some other thing she likes, if she does not like the food or leave it like that? I always go nuts when mine does not eat and have to do something else she likes all the time. Please advice me what I should do on this. Thanks!
