    Dear Mam,

O, there is something good about my way!

For dosa I made potato & carrot stew using white gravy. Suuuper!

Today's naivedhyam is Thattai-a Delicious Tea-time Snack on Inba's demand.

The first batch was a big mess and slowly it started turning up good. I didn't get puffy. I have heard Amma talking about that with Patti. I felt like flying seeing the good ones. I just used one cup of rice flour. Wasted some and finished the rest :)

    Great day!

Thanks, Roja!! I have been planning stew with white gravy - somehow getting postponed!!
Sometimes I prefer thattais not to puff up because, when stacking they get broken. I do prick in a few places to prevent puffing too!!
Naivedhyam to Swami or your swami??? :biggrin2:

Yes, Vahee. Since many will get a prejudice against the name, it is best not revealed!!

    helo mam,

today i made carrot kheer for nivedhyam. It was so good. I think the trick lies in grinding cashews along with carrot. next time i will try your tip of crushed peanuts. thank mam.

    with love,
    latha.

Amman Swami perai solli Inba Swamikku-dhan, Mam :). Konjam Swami padangal irukku. Vilakku ethi namaskaram pannuven. Thats it. After taking bath Inba goes there straightaway. One typical sashtanga namaskaram and he proceeds with his works.

We both have planned to go for low fat, well balanced(I always include carbs, proteins and vit-mins in each and every meal) and healthy dinner from tomorrow onwards. Started browsing already :)

    Dear Mam,

Next week Ammukka and Anni are visiting us with family. So, thought of doing some trials and the first one is with idli-unconventional recipe(tried a few times and this time got confident), ulundhu vadai(first trial), coconut chutney and sambar. Kuzhambus link is not there in this post .

Idli - excellent. There is some shaping problem with vadai. Hoping that it gets settled by next time. The other two items turned out good.

Today's naivedhyam is Thengai-Mangai-Pattani Sundal - Feeling nostalgic about a visit to Marina beach ? Inba sort of kidnapped me to Marina - our first thiruttu outing - before marriage:oops:. Had some frozen pieces of mango. Used those just for flavour. Perfect sundal - no mushy business.

    Great day!

The few cashews give such a rich taste & change the complexion of the plain carrots as though! :biggrin2:

I think, what you are doing is quite good!!
Nothing to beat sashtanga namaskaram, surrendering the ego!
All the best to both of you :thumbsup
