Hey Nisha this is the only time when we are not concerned abt gaining weight,so u've completed ur 23 weeks thats good.I'll complete my 21 on sat.
BTW do you observe fasts in pregnancy also.Is it ok to stay without food and especially without water for such a long period??Don't worry abt gaining weight and feed ur baby well with all the delicacies.
Are u a first time mommy or u already have a baby?

And also as you have got positive responses from other experience moms you should just relax now. Don't take any tension baby, its not good for your LO. I know its easy to say but you need to forget everything for your LO and enjoy the pregnancy.

My update@ My 24th week will start from tomorrow. I eat a lot now days..I just eat eat all the time. OMG!!! I will be big elephant by the end of pregnancy journey I m a foodie anyways and a thought of coming karwachat fast is putting wrinkles on my face I don't know how will i starve myself in this condition. I m thinking of taking some fruits this time..not sure though.

Maneet - Very true we are not at all concerned about weight gain during pregnancy unless our doctor say something. Leave pregnancy i anyways do not keep any fast other than karvachaut. This is the only fast which i started after marriage.
I discussed with some of my colleagues here and they advised to keep it by taking water and some fruits. Lets see how it goes.:drowning

I m a 1st time mommy dear and like other 1st timers i do not know a thing but IL has been quite helpful. So you are already in 21st week..Good! When is your due date?

me too expecting in jan.
Cuurently 25 weeks. have some doubts in mind.
do we(Indians) all usually go upto due date or will we be early by 1 or 2 weeks. cos both my friends delivered at 37-38weeks time while i knew foreign ladies who went upto 42 weeks.
Also for those working moms at how many weeks prior to EDD shud we take off from work?
I am highly diabetic and am on insulin. Its gestational and i am asked to do insulin 2 units per day until delivery.
My due date is 17 jan 2012.:rotfl

Hi Saran,

Congrats on your pregnancy!!
I have heard about both the cases i.e, people delivering early and also who deliver on or post their EDD but the cases of delivering early is quite common as compared to later on. They say that you should be prepared anytime after 36weeks. Lets see what happens with us
I have my GST test scheduled coming week. Please follow doctor's advice for gestational.

BTW Is this your 1st baby?

Hi Ladies,
I will complete 25 weeks today and due date is Jan 14th. See many new ladies have joined. Congratulations all and wish you a safe pregnancy. I did the detailed scan and they couldnt get a good picture of the spinal cord. So going again on Oct 3rd.

How is everyone doing?

 Ammani, hope you reached your native safe and are enjoying being pampered by your family. Do update as to how your babyshower went.

Golumolu, yes I do realise then next trimester might fly past me without even me realizing it. This year is going to be a busy winter. Have u started feeling movements yet? If you feel upto taking the fast, do it. Otherwise it is not recommended for pregnant women to take any kind of fasting. But of course, u know whats best for u. Even if I wanted to, my boy wudnt let me fast. I have never been very gud at it even before my pregnancy. I am a person who knows the time with my stomach

Maneet, congrats on your pregnancy. Happy that everything turned out fine after your ultrasound. I know its so hard for us not worry even though everyone tells not to. It must ve been a huge relief when you were told that the baby is doing well. Do let us know how it went with the feotal experts. Hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and not have to worry about anything else. My prayers with u.

 Saranya, Usually past your 36 weeks, u r considered full term. In India, I am not sure if its common to let you go past your due date. But here, its more common to wait for 2 weeks (42 weeks) before they try to induce. So that is the reason you hear women abroad saying they went past their due date. The scenario might be different now in India, I am not sure. But that is one thing I would hate having is go past my due date. But somehow I have a feeling that might happen just coz I am worried abt it :-(. \

How long before your due date, u want to take leave is a personal choice. It depends on if you have a long commute, a stressful job etc. I plan to work till the last day, only coz I have limited maternity leave (12weeks). So if I use that before the baby arrives, I will have to go early when he is here. Also, last time, I had taken off from work around 24 weeks, coz I was going to India for my delivery and it was very stressful for me. I had nothing else to distract myself with and was constantly worrying over something or the other. So I wud prefer to work till the end this time, my health permitting, so that my mind is occupied. But decision is based on your situation. Its upto you to decide how long you want to continue working.

How was ur diabetes diagnosed so early? I thought the test for GD was done between 24-28 weeks, (but of course you are 25 weeks!!!). I don’t have mine till my 28<sup>th</sup> week check up. Hope ur diabetes is under control and doesn’t give u much trouble.

Anees, you get to see the baby again, you shouldn’t be complaining . Did you find out whether it’s a boy or a girl? Do update us.

My update: My crazy days have started already. Parents left to India y day and they reached safe. Unfortunately, their luggage didnt (4 pieces). I am a little upset. I had sent all gifts to my family through my parents and now dont have any hope that they ll receive their luggage, especially since it involves air india!!!

DD is not doing so well at daycare either. The first day was fine, she dint realise what was happening. The second day she started screaming her head off when we reached the parking lot and today she was already crying when I was dressing her up at home. She was clingy and kept whining asking me not to take her. It felt like I was the worst mom ever!!! I know its a phase all kids go through and eventually will get out of it. But its getting so hard for me to do it. And the worst part is by the time, she starts getting used to the routine, we are off to India for 3 weeks and when we come back, we have to start all over again!!! Missing my mom terribly already. I blame all my emotions on the hormones

Its the last weekend before your trip. Next friday, we will be on our way. So have a lot of packing to do. Life is already getting busy!!! Physically, I am feeling ok. There are mild aches and pains but I have no time to complain abt it :-(. My sciatica is getting a little bad. Have to ask my Dr abt it when I go next week for my check up. Will have to collect all my records before I leave to India. Hoping the trip remains uneventful!!!

Thanks golumolu.. yes this is my first baby but second pregnancy i lost 1st at 13 weeks due to worst Hyperemesis Gravidarum
Now am fine with this baby.
