Did you make Bajra roti from store-bought Bajra flour? If so, Bajra flour generally tends to get bitter in a week or two after being ground. The best way to avoid this is to freshly grind Bajra seeds (pearl millet) immediately before making the roti.

Also, please note that Jowar is not the same as Bajra. The three common millets used in India are Ragi, Jowar and Bajra. Here are their names in English for clarity, and links to their wikipedia pages:

Ragi: Finger millet (Finger millet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Jowar: Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Bajra: Pearl millet (Pearl millet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

There are many videos on Youtube showing you how to make rotis from the above millets. It is slightly trickier than wheat-based rotis, as none of the above have any gluten, so it's a little difficult to get the flour to stick well. With practice, looks like it should be easy!

hi shobana, it is because of old stock and less salt. before mixing the dough please taste it and then do it. it will help you to reduce wastage.

I happened to look at this thread just yesterday morning.I have tried your GRAM FLOUR DOSA yesterday night.
It was so tasty. Thanks for the recipe :)

I could not succeed with the list of ingredients given below.
Can you please tell me how much water i can add to get dosa like consistency?????
I have added all purpose flour for the prepared batter to get DOSA out of the pan.I just want to know how to make this DOSA without an addition of all purpose flour.I had a baby,5 months back.I am on diet to reduce baby weight:)

Hope you will read my post......as i am querying for an year-old post.

    thanks

    hi

    sorry for late reply.

it will come nicely, may be you added more water, like preparing wheat dosa only.

but like rice dosa dont make very thin, you have to prepare like thick one.

you can add onion directly ,no need to grind, and add little hing also.

    try it will come .

    regards
    uma

    will add little milk.
dont add sugar, if you need add some honey.
