    Hi,

I am a new ILite, and need advice and opinions on stopping breastfeeding. My baby is 19 months old and i would like to stop it completely by 2 years. Now she needs it to go to sleep and also early in the morning. But, when we go out during weekends and come back late, she dozes off on my shoulder or on the pram without asking for it.

    Please advice :)

    dear teja,
what ever i am aware of i am telling u here, the children on their own will give up once they grow out of it, it is only some who will ask for the feed, like how u have mentioned slowly ween her out of it, as this is the best and only the best base we give our children, against all the diseases, so at least in the night before she could go to sleep pl, don't deny her the pleasure, and once she is 3 completely refuse, but slowly....hope been of help..regards sunkan

    Hi Shalu
Just 6 months back, this was my position.
now my son is 23 months old..next month is his bday. he never used to sleep without taking feed and even during nights he wanted to take it. and the difficult time was when I had to go to India for attending a wedding and I faced a lot of difficulty bcos I had to sleep among so many people and he used to disturb all by crying if I refuse.
but immediately after coming back from India..I made him sleep with his father ..I was also on the same bed but I put him to his father's side then nights when he used to cry he saw his father then his father used to give him bottle it continued for one week then he completely forgot about it.

last month when his father went for a trip for one week. I stopped giving him bottle also..and started giving him milk in cups now he has reduced drinking milks during nights only when he doesnt have eat properly he sometimes asks for milk.
now I m on mission 'Potty Training' that is seeming a very difficult task for me.
I need some suggestions from people who have successfully finished this stage.

    Thanks in advance
    Jaishree

Dear Mothes, Atleast i have company,my son is 10 months old and i already feel when is he going to stop. He hates formuls milk. If i try and offer it to him he cries and wails. So i stopped offering him that. my back aches from lying on one side continuously while this little king keeps suckling for ever and ever.If i detach myself he cries. Am also trying to potty train but he cries and howls if i make him sit on the pot. Wonder if i will succeed.
