Donate your eyes( kann Dhanam)

hi all,

It is so nice to read about you all spreading the message of eye donation. I haven't pledged eye donation as yet, but wish to do so. I have wanted to do so since I was a teenager, but I think it is time to put it into practice. Where all in Chennai can this be done?

Also, I am unable to understand so much tamil as you all have written, but I am sure it is all beautiful and very much meaningful.

Like sathya said, it is ironical that one person dies, but leaves behind a part of himself/herself which will be a great benefit to another human being. I am sure this act would have a positive effect on his/her karma.
It is such a noble deed.

Dear Hasita,
Thank you for your message. After we die we will not feel pain or pleasure. So I do not think courage is needed, but we need the family support to donate eyes or any other useful organs. As Sathya had mentioned when we die our eye condition should be good. Hope that God will be merciful to fulfil my wish.
Sankara Nethralaya and Rajan eye care center are doing this noble work at Chennai. Perhaps Government eye hospital and some other private hospitals also might be doing it.
