    Dear ILs,
My husband doesn't like my coffee especially. He says, my coffee has more water and less milk. But I don't know how to make a coffee with more milk and less water. Because we're using water in the coffee maker. Can you please let me know whether I do any mistakes or is there a way to get a coffee with more milk and less water? Please let me know.

    Hi uma,

I'll tel u the method i use . Since we south-indians r used to drinking thick cofee, we might not like the cofee maker ones.
take 2 tea spoons (or the spoon which comes with coffee - maker) of coffee powder,
half Coffee-cup of water ( measure in the cup u usually drink coffee).
Let the brewing be done. Then Pour the same coffee decoction into the coffee maker again. This is brew double with the same 2 tea spoon powder.
This is make it thick and strong.
In the mean time , boil your milk. When milk boils well, the consistency of milk becomes thick, so take the brewed coffee in the cup with sugar, then add thick milk. It will come with good Froth like Indian Filter Coffee.
I dont know if this is allowed with coffee makers, but somehow my DH likes it this way. :)

Let me start by saying I am NOT a coffee drinker.

If you are wanting a thicker coffee, why don't you percolate your coffee instead of doing drip? An espresso machine is also another option for thicker stronger coffee.

For percolated coffee you can either do stovetop or you can get an electric percolator. You will have more control as to the strength of your coffee in this way.

    Hi Uma,
If you want to make Coffee like the Coffee shops here ... Then

You have to take 1/4 cup of Water in the cup you are going to drink..
Then 1 round scoop( That we get with the coffee maker) full of Ground Coffee..
You can pour milk according to the color later... You would usually need a little more than 1/4 cup milk... This would make the water and milk content Even...

And if you want more thick coffee then you can adjust the amount of coffee powder accordingly!

    Ranchu,
thanks a lot. I had the same problem. Just tried your method. Even, I can definitely feel the improvement now. btw, can't we use milk directly in the coffee maker since it didn't heat up the liquid more than 100 degree? I have this doubt for a long time/ My DH doesn't want me to experiment this.

I use more coffee powder than recommended and make the coffee really strong. I heat up the milk in microwave and since the coffee is more concentrated, it can take more amount of milk and tastes like coffee back at home.
