Friends here comes the next Episode

Episode 40:

They both started and Charu lifted her head to see the house from her apprehension and felt guilty of her act of swinging in someone else house.

Chandrika consoled her, “Hey, it’s ok. Don’t worry” and charu told a sorry with a sad face.

Vasumathi: “It’s ok dear. Please sit, I shall bring something to drink”

By then, Chandrika, “It’s ok aunty. Will the gardener come today? I came just for that.”, she turned towards charu and told, “This is my younger sister Aunty”

Charu smiled at her and said, “Sorry Aunty”

Chandrika continued, “Aunty, she has not seen the house. So, I brought her along with me so that she can also see the house. Why can’t you join us Aunty?”, she requested her. Vasu also was very much interested as she visited that house very long back and she agreed.

Vasumathi: “Wait dear, I shall bring something to drink, inform Amma and come”

Chandrika: “Is your Amma with you?”, she asked.

Vasu: “No, she is my MIL. We call her as Amma (Mom) only. She is an aged person and she should know that I will not be around for sometime right”

By that time, the granny came and she informed her and introduced Chandrika too.

Chandrika got blessings from her. She was moved by her act and do so the other girls.

They all left together to the new house and Vasumathi did not forget to close the doors, locked it and started. She informed her MIL to make the gardener wait when he comes over there.

Chandrika went and opened the two big iron gates. It screeched and she told Lakshmi that we need to put oil to get rid of this sound. As it was old, it weighed heavy. They opened it and walked towards the lawn. Vasumathi thought that in this heart of the city having such a big house is a different feel. The cleaning has happened perfectly and it was mud over many places. There were small cement blocks kept as pathway over both the sides of the house. It has a semicircle veranda with steps in half concentric steps. The lawn can park 3 to 4 cars.

Charu: “Akka, the house is good, but not as big as our village house right”

Vasumathi was surprised to know that their house is even much bigger than this in their native. She looked at some blank places with plain soil after being cleaned and told Chandrika that she can plant some crotons, jasmine flower over there. By then the gardener came and called, “Amma, I have come. Pattima told me that you are here”

Vasumathi stopped and told Chandrika, “see the gardener guy has come. Wait, I will talk to him and come. I wanted to cut Coconuts, but I am not there, he will cheat.”

Chandrika smiled and told, “we will talk to him and come”, and she turned to Lakshmi and told, “you and Charu go and see the house. I will join you shortly”

Vasumathi and Chandrika came back to the lawn and saw the gardener waiting over there.

Vasumathi: “Hey, Subbiah, they are going to come here shortly, can you take the crotons, jasmine plants and the fragrance flowers and plant them here. We have the monkey tails right, plant it near the entrance and the hanging crotons near the entrance of the gate. It will grow around the arch. Don’t forget to plant that small one that will make snakes not come near by”

Subbiah: “Sure amma. When can I start the work? Can we discuss on the labour?”

Vasu: “This is your problem Subbiah, First start off. They are good and they will pay you well”

Chandrika: “Aunty, no worries, You took initiative for me, I shall pay him what ever he asks when it is reasonable.”

Vasu: “Thanks ma. I just gave a word without asking you.”

Chandrika: “No worries aunty. Now, come we shall go and see the house inside.”

Vasumathi was thrilled to enter in to the house. The Entrance was a very very old Teak door which can be opened with four folds. The works in them were artistic. She looked and that said, “ they said that the owners of this house have come from Burma long back and they have built this in a very artistic way, These doors are pure rosewood and the artistic work in them are fully handmade.”

Vasu touched them and admired them. The hall was quite big. The sofas were of pure teak, handmade from their village with their carpenters. It was long L shaped one and had other two sofas kept beside too. The cushion were amazing. There was a big Transparent Glass table before them. On one corner of the house was a French door which has a entry to the garden and had a small veranda over there. There were few chairs and a small table kept. On the other side was a Deewan with a cushion on it from there, it took a path to the Dining area. The Dining area had a long table that can accommodate 12 people to be seated at a time. The table was also artistic and hand made. Beyond that was a Open kitchen and a back door entrance from there. There was also a small entrance beside the curved steps that lead to the upstairs. Two bed rooms were there beside the steps and Chandrika took her to all the places. Vasumathi was thrilled to see the whole house.

Chandrika was explaining that she did a few remodelling of her choice and her father has given that full freedom for that. Chandrika scored more in vasumathi’s mind now and they went upstairs too and looked at all the three bedrooms over there.

Vasumathi: “Lots of rooms Chandrika. How will you manage to maintain it?”

Chandrika: “I will get people from my village and they will come whenever I call them”

Vasumathi: “Who will take care of your house in your native?”

Chandrika: “Our lands are already taken care by Lakshmi’s parents. His father and brother are in our village and they take good care of them. Her mother is with us and Lakshmi is studying in college. She often visits us and she is a good friend of mine.”

Vasumathi out of enthusiasm asked, “What and all you grow in your village”

Chandrika; “Aunty, it is a whole sum. We have more than 200 acres of land. Apart from this, we have Mango groves, Teak groves, Coconut and Palm trees. We also have our own rice mill and sugar mill”

Vasumathi totally understood about the background of her family and her simplicity. Though Chandrika was so rich, she was humble enough in all her ways of act and do so the innocent Charu.

Chandrika: “How is the house aunty?”

Vasumathi was dumb stuck and said, “This is a palace ma and you are asking me how is it. It needs people with minds like you to stay and I long for the day for you to move in here.”

Chandrika hugged her with love and Vasumathi liked it and said, “Hey, what happened?”

Chandrika : “I feel you like my Mom and I wish I come here soon so that I can spend time with you.”

Vasumathi: “Sure dear.”

They came back to the entrance and Charu started to swing in the swing kept near the lawn. Chandrika laughed at her and said, “She is still childish.”

Looking at her, charu said, “ Akka, I like the house very much. Why did not we have a Swing inside the house.”

Chandrika: “I tried da, but this model does not allow to put one inside like our village house. I specially got this Swing and planted it here in the garden area lawn for you. From the Swing, Vidhya’s house was visible and they can also talk if required.

When they approached the entrance, the gardener was with lots of different plants plucked from Vidhya’s house.

Vasumathi: “now You have started. They have to leave now by locking the gates.”

Chandrika: “It’s ok Aunty” and she turned to him, “Subbiah Anna(Brother”), I will give the gate keys to aunty. You please finish off everything and leave. But before that please finish off aunty’ s works as she has called you for some work right”

Vasu understood her content nature and told, “It’s ok. You finish this and come to our house.”

Gardener Subbiah was thrilled for a new job as now a days, getting such jobs and houses with such garden area was also less.

Chandrika: “If you can, please come daily and water them. You can also put borders to those plants using the small bricks and build them in triangular shapes. I will pay for the materials and labour too”

Subbiah was thrilled and said, “Thanks madam.”

Vasumathi: “Come home dear, have some thing to eat”

Chandrika: “Aunty, It’s ok. Have these gate keys with you. I shall come some other day and I will call you for sure before I come.”

Vasumathi: “No way, You should come home for sure”, and she pulled her hands and took her. Lakshmi and charu followed them with no choice. The went inside and Vimal was coming inside the house in his bike. Chandrika helped to open the gates again for him and he said, “It’s Ok akka, I shall manage”.

Chandrika: “It’s ok brother” and she closed the gate. By then, he parked his vehicle inside and before he was back, she was back.

Vasumathi introduced her to him, “Vimal, they will be coming to our next house soon. Subbiah is now given work to do gardening. Our new neighbours”

Vimal: ‘Hi Akka, Your face is so familiar to me. I have met you somewhere before.”

Chandrika: “Yes, Indeed, I also have the same feel. Lets see whether we can recollect”

Vasumathi asked them to sit and went inside. Chandrika went to the swing and then stopped and came back to accompany Chandrika. She dashed on Vimal and said, “ouch, sorry anna”

Vimal: “What? Anna, No Anna, I am not your brother?”

Charu looked at him with a innocent face and said, “Then how can I call you?”

Vimal looked back at her innocent nature and said, “ you can call me Vimal, No worries?”

Charu: “No, You are elder than me and I can’t call you like that?”

Vimal understood how she was brought up. She was so simple with her decent dressing, small bindi at her face and her dupatta pinned closely showing her pious nature.

Vimal was attracted towards her and started to tease her, “No brother please. Call me Vimal and I will be happy. If you call be Anna, I will call you paati( Granny)

The mention of her as a granny poked her anger, “How can you say me as Granny?”

Chandrika was watching their conversation and felt how innocent her sissy was and she thought she has to change a lot.

Charu: “No Granny”

Vimal: “Paati, Paati”

Vasu brought some snacks in few plates and watching this, “what is happening vimal? Why are you teasing her like this?’

Vimal: “Mom, she calls me anna and I don’t like that?”

Charu: “Aunty, he calls me Paati”

Vasumathi: “It’s good that she calls you anna right” and immediately Vimal responded

“I don’t feel her like my sissy. No way, I can call her Akka( pointing to charu) , but not this girl as my sissy”

They were making fun and vimal started to like charu from the first instant of their meet itself.

Episode 41:

Vasumathi: “It’s good that she calls you anna right” and immediately Vimal responded

“I don’t feel her like my sissy. No way, I can call her Akka( pointing to charu) , but not this girl as my sissy”

They were making fun and Vimal started to like Charu from the first instant of their meet itself.

Charu: “Ok, friend. Agreed, But No paati please” and she extended her hand to Vimal and he happily accepted with a reciprocating handshake.

There were snacks kept in the table which Vimal try to dig and Vasumathi slightly hit on his back and said, “Go and have yours kept in the table”

Vimal said, “Oh, sorry, Ouch, I did not feel them as Neighbor's” and he turned towards to Chandrika, “what do you say Akka?”

Chandrika smiled: “Sure Bro, you are also my Bro and I don’t feel different with you. May be my own brother is not close with me. I like the brother hood and expect a lot from him, at least you treat me like your sissy”

Lakshmi could understand her feel as she knows Chiranjeevi’s behavior towards her many times. Yet, Chandrika loved him and cared for him and Vasumathi was able to understand it with what Lakshmi shared about Chandrika earlier.

Vimal got his snacks from the dining table and started to have it while silently admiring Charu from beside without knowledge of others. She was very simple and cute. She was homely, but in case if she tries some modern dresses, she will look damn sexy for sure. Vimal hit his head for his thought once and said to himself, “why the hell you get such thought idiot”. Charu was simple and good. She limited her dressing sense though Chandrika has asked her to change to dress up a little modern than she was in the village. She always wears simple dress and ensures; she pins her dupatta on both sides covering her front side not even showing her hands. She plaits her hair and did not even leave it as loose hair. She always locks her hand in front of anyone in an assumption to be respectful and kind. Though Chandrika was bold enough and good in decent dressing, she has tried to change her though she did not listen to her at all. Charu was dutiful in her studies too and she was having the coffee slowly by sipping the cup. They was a quite a good amount of chatter between all of them and they all felt like a family and Vidhya who was still sleeping till that time woke up by this. She came to the hall to a see a crowd like people with Chandrika, Lakshmi, Charu, Vasumathi, Vimal and Paati joined them a bit late.

Vasumathi saw her and asked, “Oh, you woke up. You have been reading and working till 2 AM right and don’t want to wake you up dear as it was a weekend too. Hope it dawned for you dear.”

Vidhya was surprised to see a crowd at their hall and her granny also joined them. Vidhya realised that it was chandrika’s gang. She did not want to mingle much and went inside while Chandrika said, “Hi, Vidhya”. Vidhya thought to herself that we just met just yesterday and she is talking to me as we were too close. She reciprocated with a Hi and went inside their room. She took her mobile to check messages from a new number. She looked at that and to her surprise it was from Dilip from US. She was surprised and checked that, “hey, this is Dilip here”, “I got it from Sindhu Akka”, “I have gone through your documents”, “Free for a call if you wish to”.

Vidhya broke her head till last night which was of no use. Though she was awake, her interest to learn it did not help. It was an awake night for her to get worried about what she is going to do next. She was on cloud nine as she did not intend to talk to him when he was blunt on few of his answers. Now, looking at his ping, she was surprised and was unable to judge this guy. She did not want to miss this opportunity and immediately responded with a “Hi”. The whatsup stated that he was last online by 9 AM IST. But now, it was 11 AM and she could not help. Vasumathi came inside the room asked whether she needs breakfast or what is her plan.

Vasumathi: “Vidhu, what are you planning? Need Coffee, Are you going to shop today? Do you need tiffin?”

Vidhya: “Mom, series of questions in a single stretch, give me some time I am yet to brush”, she said and harsh note as she thought she could not disturb Dilip as he would have slept by this time. She went inside the bathroom, refreshed, and came to hall to see the crowd still to be there. She did not like that because of her phobic nature towards crowd. She was talkative, very enthusiastic, fun loving girl which got changed after her accident and the no sign of Vidharth after that. Vidharth was a pain to her till now and she becomes sick if she thinks about those days and of course Vidharth who did not turn out to her after she met with an accident. She went inside the kitchen to prepare Coffee and Vimal looked at her and said, “Hey, Coffee, please one cup for me too.” He turned to Chandrika and asked, “Do you need coffee akka?” and Vidhya was irritated and told him, “Mom, Will you please prepare one cup coffee for me and ask your guests too?”

Vasumathi understood her irritation and nature and said, “No worries, I will prepare”, she turned to Chandrika and asked, “Do you need coffee ma?”

Chandrika understood the response from Vidhya and she understood the situation. She responded with a smile, “No aunty, we need to start.”

She took her bag and Stood up and immediately Charu and Lakshmi also stood up from their chairs.

Chandrika; “It’s too late and I will definitely tell to my father about you for sure. I will fix the date and invite for the housewarming too. Please give me your number”

Vasumathi gave her number, noted with a missed call and stored in her mobile.

Chandrika: “One request aunty, please keep the gate keys with you. Once, Subbiah anna finishes the work, you please have it with you. I will collect it when I come next time.”

Vasumathi agreed for that and they started home and Vimal, “Mom, I also need to start to pick Vinaya. I am going to my friend’s house and will pick her from there. No need for coffee.” He did not forget to notice the move of Charu every second. He turned to Chandrika and said, “nice meeting you akka, I am also leaving shortly.” He went inside to take his badminton bat and started with his bike keys. Chandrika told Vasumathi , greeted Granny and told them to convey their Bye to Vidhya too.

Chandrika left and walked towards the lawn and opened the gates for Vimal.

Vimal: “You are always doing watchman job for me”

Chandrika: “It’s Ok bro”

After Vimal drove his bike outside their gate, Chandrika closed the gate. Vimal thanked her and said, “Akka, when shall we see the house.”

Chandrika: “Any time bro”

Vimal: “Sure Akka, next time, we make it.”, he turned towards Charu and said “Hey, Patti, Bye”

Charu: “Ok Anna” and immediately Vimal's face changed and Charu reciprocated , “Ok. Friend Bye”

Vimal smiled with a thank note and left with a vroom while Chandrika called their driver who was some where near by and reached in seconds when she called. They started with a contented heart from there.

Vidhya finished her coffee served by Vasumathi and said, “Why is that you are giving space to many people in our house like this”, she said with a grudge

Vasumathi: “You have changed a lot Vidhu. You are not like this before and you strictly talk in front of people which may hurt them. I noticed the way, you responded when Vimal asked for Coffee. But, please try to come out dear. Now, you are going to work, meeting many people, you should change your mind.”

Vidhya understood her mistake and told, “Ok. I shall try to change.”, she paused and said, “I am sorry”

Vasumathi: “Actually they are very good. They look for relations and not for money dear. With whatever they say, their family are big landlords and they holds acres of land. His father is a very bog shot on Tirunelveli side once. They have just come here for their children’s studies. But, did you notice, how humble she is for her educational background and wealthiest. She respects people and we should indeed reciprocate da”

Vidhya could not respond, Though her brain understood, her mind did not accept a few things. She paused and said an “OoKk” with a stressed tone.

Vasumathi understood her situation and said, “It’s Ok… Don’t worry. You will come out of this nature soon and I am sure you will da”

Vidhya kept the coffee cup in the Table and went inside the room and checked her mobile to see again a few messages from Dilip. She immediately scrolled to see them.

Dilip : “What a late reply madam?,” “I was waiting for you till 9 AM IST which is 10 PM for me here”, “I am fine for a discussion”, “Are you free”.

Vidhya did not expect this much messages and sent a reply, “ I am ok. Can we connect now?”

Dilip responded with a “Yes, Indeed, I am ready ”

Vidhya felt him to be a savior and immediately connected her laptop.

Vidhya felt him to be a savior and immediately connected her laptop.

It was worthful discussion for Vidhya over chat. Dilip tried his best to explain her from scratch for all her simple queries. He quoted live examples, comparison with Indian and foreign markets and also against the day to day examples, comparison against scandals in the markets. Vidhya was surprised that he knows many things and he was a good trainer is what she thought. It was a worthy discussion for Vidhya for more than 2 hours and it was indeed very late for Dilip which she realized after that.

Dilip: “Hope you had some good idea on what you wanted to learn.”

Vidhya: “Yes, indeed. Thanks a lot. I could never forget this help.”

Dilip: “So, Treat?”

Vidhya was a bit hesitant and did not respond for a few seconds. She did not want to commit herself because of her nature.

Dilip: “What madam, No reply?”

Vidhya: “Yeah, I am here. You are in US and how can I give you treat. Anyways, Diary Milk Silk. When you come.”

Dilip: “Just Diary Milk. You are like a schoolgirl”, he typed a Sad Smiley. “I did not expect this”

Vidhya don’t know what to respond and paused for a moment and then replied, “Ok, when you come to India, we will see”

Dilip: “I should admit, I am a fan of Dairy Milk Silk and indeed my favorite chocolate. But don’t worry, I will get you lots of chocolate when I come to India”

Vidhya: “Thanks. We shall see then”

Dilip: “You seems to be so timid. You can consider me as a good friend.”

Vidhya: “Hmm. Let’s see. I think it’s too late for you. I shall check the notes and definitely call you back for any questions.”

Dilip on the other thought to himself, “What a Dumbo she is?”

Vidhya: “I am logging off Dilip. Thanks again for your help. Truly appreciated.”

Dilip hit his head on the other side, “She is really strange” and responded in the chat, “Ok madam. Catch you later.”

Vidhya disconnected the chat and she immediately browsed through the documents and Vasumathi came inside the room, “Vidhya, you did not have anything till now.”

She actually came with a bowl with her food and asked, “Shall I feed you dear. You are so upset since morning by both physical and workwise. Don’t worry, things will be fine soon dear.”

Vidhya thought for a while how she did show her face towards her in the morning and now, she came with her food as she don’t want her daughter to be hungry”

Vidhya was tired and she said, “Ok ma” and Vasumathi fed her food and she also got her water in a bottle. Vidhya got few tears drops in her eyes and Vasumathi, “Don’t be of empty stomach dear and things will be fine soon.”

The Food was delicious for her hunger and she hugged her tight and started to cry unknowingly. She could not share about her pain to her and as a mom, she felt that distance with her. Vasumathi understood that there is something hidden in her heart and she could not help too. Yet she prayed for her wellbeing and she should come out of that state soon.

Vasumathi was assuming that she is struggling in her office front and also, she feels for to have started her career late while few of her friends were doing good. She finished her food in few minutes and asked if she needed more for which Vidhya agreed and said, “Yes mom, Same rice and kuzhambu” and she nodded and said, “sure dear”.

Vidhya thought how much she is disturbing others by her behavior. She thought to herself, “Why am I Like this? My failure has changed my nature. When am I going to come back to my old life? “. She still remembered the days she spent with Vidharth. The crush she had on him and the time it realized when he also reciprocated for that with his proposal. The teasing drama that was happening for a couple of months on all their encounters in the college. The full crowded canteen with gangs of people seated where Vidhya’s group and Vidharth’ s group would be seated beside and teasing them across. There were times where Vidhya and Vidharth use to dress in same color's and this will become the topic of the day. Vidhya brushed her memories and till now she doesn’t know the reason as why Vidharth did not come back after her Birthday followed by her accident. Vinaya has tried to console her many times, but Vidhya left a pain in herself. She used to tell her that if she knows the reason on what has happened, she would have been able to console herself. She has thought as whether she was cheated or has something happened to him. She was not able to reach him and all her attempts failed is the reality because of his high society background.

Suchi woke up from bed as she was feeling tired because of her late-night sleep and issues with her Car. She refreshed and came back when she realised about the child and she looked around and there was no sign of the child at all. She remembered that she got a child from the traffic police last night and she was its responsibility and she totally forgot about that little one and she was lying on her bed. She remembered giving it to Rani akka to take care and she immediately got down from her bed and came in search of the child. She looked at all places and no one was there in the house. Suchi felt a bit paralysed as she was the responsibility of the kid. She called, “Rani Akka, Rani Akka”.

She came to the entrance of see Rani Akka in the garden drying the clothes.

Suchi: “Rani Akka,You should have woke me right?”

Rani Akka: “Today is Sunday only know?’ Why ma, so only I did not wake you?”

Suchi: “Where is the Kid?”, there was an anxiety in her face.

Rani Akka: “Oh, the kid, don’t worry, she was sleeping in your bed only know.”

Suchi: “Akka, there is no one beside me”, she again got anxious and said, “Aiyoo akka, where is the kid?”

Rani Akka: “Oh sorry, I forgot ma. She is with Amma”

Suchi now came back to normality and she rushed to her mom’s room. The kid was playing with her mother and she saw a happy face of her mother. She totally forgot the smile of her mother and now she was looking happy by having the child with her. The child was damn cute and it was a girl child.

Suchi admired its beauty. She was a rosy flower and was laughing for the sweet words from her mom’s talks. She was talking sweet words to the kid and it reciprocated by jumping and hitting her mom’s face. Suchi’s mom was actually very happy with the kids’ company and Suchi felt happy about that.

Suchi went near her and got the kid from her. The kids face brightened further brightened by looking at Suchi and it laughed and hit her again and again. The drool came out of its mouth and it applied it all over her face. Suchi initially avoided it, but later she liked that kinder touch and slowly the kid started to cry.

Suchi’s mom: “Rani, come here. The child might be hungry. Get some milk for it.”

Suchi: “Mom, how come you know about its hunger.”

Suchi Mom: “Kids normally cry for food only or if it is not well. She is lovely Suchi, very cute. I remember your child days.”

Suchi: “yeah mom” and she explained the story of how she got the kid from the traffic police.

Suchi’s Mom: “Not sure, whose kid is this. Should leave it to her mother dear. It needs a mother’s care now. Poor child, May be it is still having the feeding habit”

By then Rani came with a feeding bottle of Milk and got the kid from Suchi.

Suchi: “Akka, you prepared well. When did you buy all this?”

Rani: “Yeah Suchi ma, I just got this in the morning when I went to shop vegetables. Don’t know how long this papa(child) is going to be here. We should take care of her well right”

Suchi: “Hmm... Let me call the traffic police to enquire about this child.”

Suchi dialled his number, but it was mentioned as Switched off and she got puzzled.

She doesn’t know what to do and she had no choice other than his number. She thought whether his battery would have drained and thought of trying later.

Rani akka, Suchi and Suchi’s mom spent quality time with the kid in their house and Suchi was happy to see change and happiness in her Mom’s face which was missed for long time. The child got jelled with all the three of them and it was fun frolic day for all the three amid of their daily lazy routine chore.

The saying that a place where a child is there, everyone forgets their sorrow, problems etc was true as all of them were very happy with the presence of that kid. Rani was happy in her duties, her mom often enquired about the kid and she was mobile with her.

Suchi found a difference in her mom and she felt really happy about it. It was a different environment in the home with the smile of the kid and being a Sunday all enjoyed at home. Suchi was playing with the kid and was entertaining her by running along with her. The little one was enjoying it and tried to kiss her which she enjoyed. The calling bell rang and Suchi went to see Chid vilas and Anandhi at their door step.

Suchi: “Come on Chidu, Come on Aunty”

Anandhi: “Hey, whose kid is this? She looks really cute dear”

Suchi: “yes, she is attached with all of us. The house is full of happiness with her entry. The whole day we were sort of in a run but for the two hours she slept”

Anandhi got the little one from Suchi and she adapted to everyone and Vilas also could not resist looking at the rosy pink flower, its smile and he also tried to hold her by getting her from his mom.

They did not even know the name of the kid, but everyone liked it, its rosy lips, attractive smile and the dimple shown when it laughs.

Chid Vilas and Anandhi came to visit Saradha, Suchi’s mother as it were a long pending one. When Chid Vilas was out of station for his seminars, Anandhi was also busy with her charitable trust activities. Once Chidu was back, they immediately started as Chid Vilas also has to visit her to check her health.

Chidu was holding the kid in his hand and was flattering it with his words.

Suchi: “I am with this little one from the morning from the time I woke up. I need to check about my car also with the service Guy. I will be back now”, she stepped out to her room and said, “Aunty and Mom, you continue, I will join in some time. You will have lots to discuss right”

Anandhi: “Yeah, Suchi”, and she turned to Suchi’s mom, “Saradha, I have lots to discuss with you”

Rani akka came with a bowl of some porridge and asked Chidu, “Sir, give her na. I need to feed her. She must be hungry.”

Chid Vilas: “You prepared food for her. Now you also accustomed to this little one. Yeah, she attracts everyone it seems”

Anandhi: “You people say that she was brought by suchi just last night, and you prepared porridge for her and how come you got the mix prepared”

Saradha: “I gave her some ingredients name and she dry roasted and powdered them and instant porridge mix is ready.”

Anandhi: “Saradha, it’s good to see you interact like this. You can also come and join me in my trust. You will get a change of place, time.”

Saradha: “Hmm... yes Anandhi. This kid really made my day today. I am feeling very light today.”

Chidu: “Aunty, I have been insisting you to get a diversion instead of sitting in the room. You have already wasted your time very much and rather was hurting yourselves a lot. You should come out of it. Look at this child and how she changed you in a single day.”

Saradha: “If you and Suchi would have been married, I should have also got a little one like this from you both.”

Chid Vilas could not open his mouth and said, “I will be back now aunty” and he went to climb the steps to Suchi’s room.

Anandhi: “I am also telling him about this many times and these two never listen and go at the back of their career.”

Saradha: “Yes Anandhi. I wish I want to see her married and lead a happy life”

Chid Vilas went upstairs to Suchi’s room and she was checking some files in her bed. She was standing and verifying the papers and files kept on the bed. Chid Vilas felt her like Chandrika and went at the back of Suchi and hugged her tight. Suchi thought for a moment and turned and hit her head in his chin.

Suchi: “Hey, idiot, what’s this? I got shocked.”

Chid Vilas looked deeply in her eyes and tried to look at her with love. Chandrika’s face reminded in his mind and he kissed her forehead. Suchi did not feel bad, but did not expect this from Chidu, a kiss and a hug. She felt a different sensation in herself when he kissed her and she buried her head in his chest.

Suchi: “This is something new da. Do you think, we should still get married?”, there was a naughty smile on her face.

Chid Vilas loosened his hug and said, “I am sorry Suchi. I never thought nor… “, he stammered, “I did something different. You seem special to me when I saw you from your back”, there was an embarrassment from his end.

Suchi: “It’s Ok da. What’s your problem? Shall we get married soon?”, she teased him.

Chid Vilas got a jerk in his mind, “Can we become good pairs Suchi?”

Suchi: “Come on Chidu!”, she hugged him and said, “Why can’t we get married?”

Chid Vilas did not expect this from Suchi as he wanted to share about Chandrika to her.

Suchi: “I am serious this time Chidu. The moment the kid came to our house, the whole environment got changed. I also dreamt as how my mom will change if she sees her grandchildren from us.”

Till now Chidu did not hug her back and Suchi lifted her head and saw him holding both his hands upside.

Suchi hugged him tighter now and said, “You had only hugged me first and now you hesitate. I feel we should get married. Enough of us running at the back of our careers da. I am going to leave the thought of us finding our correct partners.”

Chid Vilas slowly got down his hands and tried to hug Suchi. His thought of Chandrika came into mind and he imagined as if he is hugging Chandrika. They both felt love blossomed between them for a moment, just a moment. They felt within themselves that love is a different feel and it will change everyone’s life.

Now Chid Vilas released her from her hold and said, “Actually, I wanted to share something with you Suchi. I could not come and meet you since this week as I was busy with some other works in my clinic and need to attend a few emergency cases too.”

Suchi: “Hmm… It’s ok da. I know your schedule and I have also closed a few cases now and was telling Raju Anna to take a break. His elder daughter’s marriage is also nearing and hence he is also not available for some time.”

Chid Vilas: “Suchi, what is your plan for today. Can we go somewhere outside for today?”

Suchi: “Why not, I am also bored of the regular chores and rather I also need a break”.

Suchi tried the Traffic police number again and it was again switched off and said, “why is he not giving me a response, Idiot!”

Chidu: “What happened Suchi? Whom are you cursing?”

Suchi: “Hmmm… I was telling about last night incident right and the kid was given to me by a traffic police. I am trying to reach him and his number is switched off till now.”

Chid Vilas: “Hey, are you sure, Is he a real Traffic police? Did you check his ID before getting the kid from him.?”

Suchi: “Hmm… come on Chidu, I would not just like that leave like that. I know the station inspector and I can check his where abouts too. Moreover, they would have taken that guy to that police station and I have my voice to check all these”

Chid Vilas: “So, you are going to have the kid with you then?”

Suchi: “Hey come on, Can I have this Kid for with me for all time? I need to find out the real mother or father of this kid?”, there was a strong concern on her words for the little one.

Chid Vilas: “Ok... Ok... You always invite troubles like this. I don’t know where this is going to end. You have not changed a bit.”

Suchi: “Chidu, can’t you understand me? How can I just leave a kid with a drunkard and come? I am a responsible citizen and for sure, I just can’t leave a child, that too a girl child just like that in a road with a person who is not in his control at all.”

Chid Vilas: “Ok… madam Ok, wish you find its parents soon.”

Suchi was still having the mobile near her and it suddenly rang and it was from the Traffic police and she immediately picked it.

Suchi: “Hello sir, what’s this? I am expecting a call from you since morning and you are not at all reachable till this time.”

On the other end, it was an unknown voice and a person was at the end of the other line.

Stranger: “Madam, whose phone is this? This was found on the road and the battery… Looks like when it was fallen, the battery has come out. I fixed it and called the last dialler’s number.”

Suchi: “Oh, where did you find this mobile.?”

Stranger gave the location of the place and she told him that it belongs to a police inspector and asked him to wait until he receives call from him. She also got his number to ensure that she does not miss him.

Suchi: “Oh god, why is that things happen to me like this.”

Chid Vilas: “come on, don’t worry. We shall start.”

Suchi: “Can we take the kid also with us?”

Chid Vilas was fine with that as he was not in a mood of romance rather wanted to discuss with her about Chandrika.

Suchi informed her mom and rani akka and they started in a while. She checked with Rani akka for what is all required to be bought for the kid and she noted them down.

They both went in chid Vilas car and went to shopping mall and Suchi went inside a shop named 1st Step for Kids. Chid Vilas was having the kid and people looking at them will assume them to be couples with their kid. They both went in chid Vilas car and went to shopping mall and Suchi went inside a shop named 1st Step for Kids. Chid Vilas was having the kid and people looking at them will assume them to be couples with their kid. Both of them bought few dresses, diapers for the kid, some toys and whereever they selected, they exchanged the kid in between. They formed a nice couple and they also were noticed by Chandrika who was also in the shopping mall with her Sissy Charu and Lakshmi. They were sitting down the café in the centre of the mall surrounded by four storey steps and shops. People sitting in the café can watch others who use escalators to go and come down and in the visible area of lawn when they walk in each floor

Lakshmi: “hey akka, notice the doctor, he is married it seems. Look at his kid and also his wife.”

Chandrika: “Yeah, I know her Lakshmi and looks like they are married now.”

Lakshmi: “You know them before”, in a surprising note

Chandrika: “Yes, when Appa was hospitalized, she came to meet him in hospital. I remember her face now when I recollected that. Looks like they are married now with a kid too. They form a nice pair right.”

Lakshmi: “Hey, It’s surprise to me. It looked like he was flirting with you and you were as usual calm as always you are. I know you liked him, still you did not even utter a word to me. Now, looking at them you say, you know them already.”

Chandrika: “Come on Lakshmi, I never said I liked him.”

Lakshmi: “I know very well that you liked him and you are hiding it from me. Don’t you feel bad to see the couple.”

Chandrika was calm as usual, “Lakshmi, come on, I never had any impression on him. I just know him as a notified doctor and he treated appa well. It happened so that I happened to meet him again. That’s it”, she was contented in her words.

Lakshmi: “Can we go and talk to him?”

Chandrika: “Come on, they have come as a family and why is the need for us to go and talk now?”

Lakshmi knows her nature very well but was a bit disappointed as she was dreaming about both of them. As a good friend of Chandrika rather than an employee’s daughter, she wanted to look Chandrika get married to a good person. Chandrika would be liked by anyone and she wanted her friend to be happy and someone to take care of her well.

Chandrika did not over think, though she liked the doctor, she respected at his profession and did not give many thoughts to her mind. By then Chaaru came with Ice creams for all the three and they had it together.

Suchi bought a small trolley for the kid and she placed her inside it and they came down in the lift to Café. Chidu noticed Chandrika finishing her ice cream and they were about to start. His mind wanted to go and talk to her, but something stopped him and Suchi was also with him. She was wearing a purple legging and a Yellow colour kurti. She left her hair lose and when she crossed a shop, the entrance Air conditioner cool air flew through making her hair flew and he could hardly see her face in mid of the air which she adjusted. She was looking beautiful in that scene and Vilas did not take his eyes off her until she left that place.

Suchi: “Hey come on, where are you looking at? I am here and look at the little one”, the kid suddenly started to cry and Suchi, “Hey Chidu, please hold this bag”, she pulled him, gave the bags she had and took the child to console her.

Vilas missed out Chandrika and his attention turned towards the crying child and said, “What happened?”

Suchi: “Looks like, she must be hungry. Wait, I will feed her some milk provided by Rani Akka”, and she took that started to feed her. Vilas also tried to pacify the kid and it started to smile after having the milk. Though chid vilas was disappointed to have missed Chandrika, the kids smile gave a smile rather a gratification. He thought that, “Nothing in this world can buy a child’s smile”.

They went to the same café and Vilas sat on the same chair where Chandrika was sitting and Suchi went to get something to eat for them. It so happened that both Chandrika and Chid Vilas saw each other in the mall without the knowledge of each other. But Chid Vilas heart was pounding heavily and his mind was seriously at the back of Chandrika. Till now, Chandrika is her name that he knows. He does not know as why his mind is moving towards her. He was a successful cardiac surgeon in the city, but why is that his mind got changed like this after looking at a girl he never knew. He has seen her earlier and he has not even remembered her when he saw her after a couple of years. He thought as whether she could be the girl whom he had been dreaming and hence his heart is moving towards her. For the incidents happened for the day and his unintentional events with Suchi after a long time and Suchi’s response for them to get married created a different sub conscious state within himself. He was not clear at all and could not open up with Suchi too at this moment. In mid of this muddled state, the little one started and Vilas took the baby from the baby stroller and consoled the little one. By then, the scene swirled and Chandrika and co have moved to first floor and Chandrika looked at the couple from the upstairs looking at Vilas consoling the crying child and Chandrika admired his action. Lakshmi turned her face by pulling her chin other side, “anyway he is not for you”.

Chandrika smiled at her innocently and said, “See, how he cares for the kid, so cute”.

Lakshmi hit her head and said, “Come on akka, Move on” while charu did not understand what is happening around and she saw downstairs to check about whom or what they were discussing about.

Chid Vilas and Suchi returned home and the suchi got two bags. Vilas brought the kid and she was asleep on his shoulders. Rani akka looked at them and said, “Ah… you people are back. Amma was asking about you both.”

Rani’s voice was always at a high decibel than normal and Vilas kept his index finger on his mouth and asked her to talk slowly as the little one was sleeping. Rani understood and got the kid from him, but she woke up and started to cry and suchi came and consoled her. With her touch, she felt comfortable and kept her face buried in her neck. Suchi liked it and she told that she will put her in the bed and come.

Anandhi was still at their house and she wanted to start along with Vilas once he was back. She also had a nice time with her friend after a long gap. Suchi put the kid in her mom’s room and came out. Saradha saw suchi with the kid and prepared the bed for it.

Saradha: “Hey, was she fine outside?”

Suchi: “Yeah Mom, she accustoms to all the situations and we need to feed her on time else she cries like anything”

Saradha: “Hmm.. so you have also learnt to handle a kid now. That’s nice.”

Suchi: “Yes mom, I feel a positive energy within myself since she has arrived.”

Saradha: “yes Suchi, I also feel the same. I feel a different vibes with the entry of this little one.”

Anandhi and Rani came with a tray of coffee for everyone. Suchi silently actioned others to come to the hall so that kid will sleep well. Rani immediately turned and do so others.

Rani has prepared hot coffee and hot Bajji’s and she served them hot.

Chid Vilas: “Rani Akka, it’s too good. After a long time and after my return from US, I am tasting a nice home made snack”

Suchi: “Yes Rani Akka, it’s too good. Though we have food outside, Home made is always special you see. You have magic in your hands.”

Rani akka giggled and said, “Enough Suchi ma. It’s nice to see all of you together after a long time. I am really happy for amma and she is completely different today.”

Anandhi: “Yes, you are right Rani. She is looking good and also talking nicely. I remember the old days where she use to be very active and atleast I can sense that now in her words though not physically.”

Suchi: “Yes Aunty, Amma was mentioning that the arrival of this kid has brought change to all us, good vibes at home and she is feeling us forget all our worries.”

Chid Vilas: “Yeah true, the saying that a house where a child is there, we tend to forget all our worries and it’s happening here.”

Rani Akka: “But Sir, how long she is going to be here? That’s my worry”

Everyone became silent for few seconds and suchi broke it, “Let’s see. But enjoy the current moment. Lets give a kudos to Rani akka”

Saradha: “So, Suchi and Vilas, what are your plans?”

Suchi: “Marriage”, she said without hesitation and Vilas don’y know what to answer and Anandhi also got her face brightened and she saw Vilas and he silently smiled.

Vilas found Chandrika’s face getting away in his mind and he was helpless.

Chid Vilas : “Mam, shall we start.”

Saradha: “Chidu, what hurry. It’s a weekend right. You can have your dinner and start”

Anandhi: “No Saradha. Both Father and son will be wating for us. He had been outside on an official visit and he should be back by now. Else, he should have joined me to visit you too.”

Saradha: “Ok, sure, convey my wishes to Arul Anna”

Anandhi looked at Suchi, “It’s good to hear that you people are ready for marriage and I will speak to Uncle and come home by next week in a formal way”

Suchi smiled and said ,” Sure Aunty” and she winked at Chid Vilas. He smiled at him back and they both started home.

Chid Vilas was completely not in a mood as he was forced himself to accept for the marriage. He was thinking to himself that why he is put in to such an embarrassing situation and his mindset for now was not ready for anything. On one side was his best buddy looking to join her hands as her life partner with him and on the other side was a girl whom he is still searching to tell his love. Vilas texted Abhishek that he wanted to meet him in the evening and informed about the place where their usual friends meet up and he also agreed for the same.

Vilas dropped Anandhi at home and told her that he has some work to meet up with his friends and before Anandhi could talk to him, he immediately left in his car. Anandhi thought as why he is behaving like this and she thought it in a different perspective as if he agreed for marriage, he is changed now. Vilas went to the usual meet up restaurant in a mall and he stepped into the lift to reach out to the floor where the Rajasthani restaurant was located. There were four lifts two on each side and the lifts were having full length mirrors inside them. He just went inside the lift and was looking at the mirror inside to adjust his hairstyle and he saw Chandrika behind him and the image was reflected in the mirror he was looking at. He turned immediately to see no one was there and lift door also got closed. For a moment he was not sure as it was Chandrika or just his own maze as he was thinking about her. His heartbeat started to pound more and he was not sure as why he is like that. He came to the restaurant floor from the lift and he came outside and came to the left side. There were two sides on the floor that lead to shops on both the sides. He stood for a while and tried for Abhi’s number to inform him that he is reached. There was renovation work of a shop being done and two guys were bringing a big size mirror on the right side at a distance and he saw Chandrika coming from the next lift and walking in his opposite direction which was reflected in the mirror when he saw the reflection of the mirror. Another set of mirrors was brought at the back by some other workers and he saw Chandrika adjusting her loose hair and her reflection was shown in the back side mirror too. She was wearing the same yellow colour kurti and purple legging and she was having a few files in her hand and a handbag. Vilas immediately turned to see her going fast talking to someone on the phone. He cursed himself that he has understood her to be his own maze as he was over thinking about her. By now Abhi called him back and said he said he is in ground floor and is coming in lift. Before he could respond, Abhi was at the back of him.

Abhi: “Hey, come on, you told me that you want to meet me immediately. What is your problem da. Why is that you are looking like this ?”, They were talking in the way itself and abhi insisted that they move on.


Chid Vilas; “Yes da machaan. I really want to talk to you in person. I don’t have anyone else other than you.”

Abhi: “What is happening Dude? You seem so tensed?”, he said and started to walk towards their usual restaurant and said, “I have already booked a table for us”

It was a Rajasthani restaurant and Abhi went inside and went to the bearer and told him for his table request and he directed them to a corner table. The light was dull there and it was two chairs opposite to each other in a table. There was a doom light hanging at the centre of the table and the doom was made of bamboo and the yellow colour reflected the Zero watts light and Abhi ordered a few north Indian Items.

Chid Vilas: “Now you are specialized in ordering north Indian food items right”

Abhi: “Yes, Impact of Aaruchi and I started to like them too.”

Chid Vilas: “Do you still have Non vegetarian? I know Aaruchi is a vegetarian”
Abhi: “Yes, she is strict at home. But she is fine for me to have it outside.”

Chid Vilas: “Cool da”, by then the bearer placed two glasses of Nimbu pani mixed with some chat masala in that and Abhi told, “Vilas, have this man.”

Chid Vilas: “Come on dude, You always prefer first to eat. Don’t know how come Aaruchi choose you da?”

Abhi was so cool and started to have the plates of Pani puri served and few more chat items served beside having the Nimbu Pani.

Chid Vilas: “For people like you, girls fell and you also got married and why in this hell , I am facing all these issues in my life”

Abhi: “Stay cool da. I know it is about Chandrika, right?”


Chid Vilas was surprised about his comment and asked him, “Dude, how come you know that I called you to talk about that girl only”

Abhi: “Dei, I am watching you since we met in Mumbai. You were not a person like as how you were before. I know how Guys change when they fall in love. For me, I felt it when I met Aaruchi. To be frank, Aaruchi liked me more than I liked her. When I came to know that I was flying in air. Since her mom was a north Indian, she was too good looking when compared to me. I even hesitated to propose her as I felt inferior in my looks when compared to her.”

Chid Vilas was keenly listening to what he was saying and Abhi “hey sorry, I am talking about my own story” and Vilas, “Hey I need to know all these now da”

Abhi: “Somehow, I made my mind and requested few minutes of her time when we met in a seminar. She immediately agreed and asked whether we can go for a Coffee. It was surprise to me as I did not know what she will think.”

Chid Vilas: “Interesting dude.”

Abhi: “We went for a coffee for that day and I came to know that she was waiting for the moment for my proposal. It was rather she started the conversation and pulled words from my mouth and made me to propose her. I hesitated and asked whether she has a liking for me and she said that she was waiting to hear it from me. I was on top of the world. I felt a bit inferior in my looks as she was looking too too good than me and whether she would like me or not. Being a north Indian, she was very fair and her features were very good and cute. Though I am fair, I am a bit chubby right, but She liked me more than I liked her and I am feeling that till now and tasting my happiness with her till now.”

Chid Vilas: “Lucky guy you are da.”

Abhi: “hey take the snacks. Shall I Order a beer for you”

Chid Vilas: “Do they supply Beer here?”, he asked in a surprising way.

Abhi: “Dude, they call masala butter milk as Beer here. This is a pure vegetarian restaurant”


Chid Vilas: “Sorry, I don’t need. I need a good coffee. Will I get it”

Abhi: “We will finish it and have it in Star bucks which is few shops away from here. First, lets come to our point. What have you decided? I have the contact of Chandrika now. Are you really going to take a next step to approach her or not? You do not know anything about her yet. You should know about her family background, mostly about her character and need to convince her first. If things work out with her and if its mutual, then you need to convince your friend suchi and then your mother.”

Chid Vilas was keeping his palm in both his cheeks and was observing the way he was talking and explaining clearly on what he exactly needs. Besides, he was having his favourite food that he has ordered.

Chid Vilas: “Dude, happy guy you are, you married the girl you liked. You are still the same foodie. For your food habits, one girl liked you and now you have put on good tummy.”

Abhi: “hey that’s the only issue for me with Aaruchi. After a long time, I came here and don’t want to miss my favourite items. I should control it at least for Aaruchi da. You please finish off yours so that we shall go for coffee. Before that you tell what is in your mind.”

Chi Vilas: “ Don’t know Abhi, today Suchi opened up for marriage and I could not utter a word to her and she is pretty having a very good mind set for marriage. I really don’t feel that sense at all with her. The time I met Chandrika, even not knowing her name, My mind is wandering for her. There is not a single day after I met her, I have not thought about her. Is this love? Longing for a person we don’t know, Longing to be with her, spend more time with her?”

Abhi: “good to know that my friend has fallen in love. Happy days ahead machan”
