    I will likely visit the places I was supposed to visit if it were not for cheating people.

    Lot of sad feelings will come up, but I want to confront them.

    I want to take back my happiness and not depend on anyone.

    I'm unsure if any tour company would go to these places. They usually focus on Rajasthan, Gujarat, Agra, etc.

    @SuiDhaaga,

    Traveling to India is a big process in my mind. Every time, we plan a trip, it starts 3 months before the scheduled visit and many things may change within those 3 months. Planning such a trip during COVID is even more complicated. Generally, we plan way more than what we can do in 3-4 weeks and in general, it is a long list of to do list more than having a pleasurable experiences visiting places or spend time with the family.

    We are all consistently under pressure what to drink and eat preferably home made food. Visiting relatives is more of a pressure than a pleasant feeling as they ask series of questions. Visiting friends and some occassional trip to an Ice Cream shop is the only consolation in otherwise pressure-filled trip. Even though I enjoy going back to my mother country, the pressure I experience for planning and completing the tasks I decided to complete far outweighs the pleasure of spending time in my mother country.

    May be it is age that is catching up with me and I don't like uncertainities. Even a simple pleasurable experience of boarding a plane which used to be a happy feeling now turned out to be stressful.

    I love ice cream

    But I am staying away from relatives.

    when a USA relative went to India, the relatives never responded to her phone calls.

    they are living where she grew up!

    When they came here because their son was doing medical rotations and now medical residency, they did not tell us.

    I will not tell them if and when I go to India

    if and when I go (while I am still young and healthy) I guess I’ll have to be a tourist in our ancestral land.

    I have been to India multiple times as a tourist. Because I do not have any relatives living there. My H has his roots in TN. His parents lived there until they moved recently.

    I & my H has many friends in the Indian cities.
    But most of the time, we plan our visit as per our own preferences. We mainly go to India for the food, shopping, and to see places. If mom joins, she would want to visit a few famous churches as well. On the go, we meet friends or family, but that's not the primary idea of India visits.

    It has always been great, and we have created wonderful memories and made excellent friends each time.

    India is very cheap, and the people are so warm. I like the feeling of being home each time I land in India.
