Hyperbole !! "Hundreds of Thousands died on the road ?!!" says the man to the Channel4wallah. When people expect to see funeral pyres in equivalent numbers, just spouting off some big wild number doesn't really wash.

It is all about the background music. You can have funeral pyres, with a happy music in the soundtrack, and that would impact so differently. Almost five decade ago there was sitar music when two groups carrying the almost-dead, competed for a spot. Similar thing happened in a Delhi parking lot with a different music.
