Do you believe in synchronicity? Well I don't 'believe' in it, but have been experiencing a lot of it in daily life of late. What do they mean or what do they convey? Search me!!! But they do happen.

Take for instance the fact that I have been visiting the dentist lately. I could not resist asking how many teeth I had left inside that cave. It accounted for the wisdom teeth which came and went unaccounted for - without warning. In fact I did not know I was wise until I was told they had to be removed. So, even though I did not celebrate my wisdom, I surely rued their loss. And yes, the departure was a lot painful than the arrival ..... in fact the arrival was not even noticed.

I have to thank @Srama and a few threads on Karma for bringing me to this topic. See the synchronicity? Srama talked of visits to the dentist. That made me think of my lost wisdom teeth. Then I read a few threads on "Karma" (hmmm... :rage: just wait till I get my hands on her!) and could not help feeling sad that despite all my years and experiences, I still feel inadequate when it comes to talking wisely about any topic. Leave alone talking about the topic, I still need to look for guidance in the matter. Then I consoled myself thinking of the 'lost wisdom'.

But on a more serious note, I find myself more and more inadequate when sharing any 'pearls of wisdom' (I mean the proverbial ones, not the real ones I mentioned earlier) because I find there is no one answer that suits all. Then there are so many theories / philosophies one is aware of, that one is convinced by on an intellectual level, but is unable to necessarily relate to in terms of experience. There are just those occasional "Eureka" moments when there is a sense of having vaguely grasped the sense of one of them. Our own experiences are so varied, leave alone the myriad experiences of millions of people in another order of million situations ..... Is there a universal wisdom? Which brings me to @Thyagarajan's "Right is wrong and vice versa" ..... See synchronicity at work again? So many topics around the same general theme.

And now, I consider it wise to stop, because wisdom lies in doing so, before the readers stop and leave.

"...theories/philosophies one is aware of, that one is convinced by on an intellectual level, but is unable to necessarily relate to in terms of experience. There are just those occasional "Eureka" moments when there is a sense of having vaguely grasped the sense of one of them."

This so aptly sums up what I have been trying to find the words for, that once the words presented themselves, I had to type them ( no copy/paste), no... it had to typed like the sulekh (good-handwriting) pages we did in childhood. : )

Synchronicity -- that should become my word of the year. Dictionary says:
    noun
    • the simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection.
I texted a friend. She texted back that she had just been thinking of me. I told her, she thinks of me multiple times during the day, and I happened to text at one of those times. A pause.. yes, there can be discernible pauses in texts too, and then came a smiley. It was yet another example of synchronicity. If I knew this word then, would have texted back just that one word. : )

Welcome back! And what a snippet to reappear with!

    Hey Rihana,

so good to get your prompt response. This synchronicity thingy is really intriguing and the more I notice it, the more it happens. Not complaining though. Adds some spice to the boredom of life during a pandemic.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the lovely feed back. I hope I'm able to find more and more topics to write about. Often the ones I think of are dark ones, so I refrain from doing so ..... only to end up watching darker news and documentaries!!!

"Sulekh" handwriting books ..... oh yes! How can I forget them? Those afternoons spent practising cursive writing to get me admission to a convent school where one would have to write only cursive.

The word of the year 2020 according to dictionary.com is PANDEMIC. Last week only I came to know this word Synchronicity. Nice to pronounce!

    Dear Satchi,

synchronicity or not, karma or not, eureka moments or not - happy to have you back. Now, do stay and don't keep looking for those synchronous moments

    I tell you what,
it is just prolonging those eureka moments that will give rise to a snippet. Have you heard the term "getting in the gap"? There is a nice book by Dr.Dyer with the same title. Prolonging those moments - synchronous, eureka whatever is all it takes my friend!

Looking forward to seeing more of you!

See? Now that is a classic case of 'synchronocity'. :-D

Synchronicity? That is too long a word for someone like me without wisdom. Let me try to guess what it is. I suspect it is the politically correct term for coincidence. Wisdom teeth? I was under the impression, everyone was allotted only one wisdom tooth. You have them in plural? That, I must say is a lot of wisdom. No wonder you use terms like-- what city is that? Yeah, synchronicity. Marvelous word but I suspect it is generally used by those who have no wisdom to expound, to convince those who don't understand a word of what they say that they have something profound to communicate Like Sashi Tharoors of the world who (mis)use such terms to make everyone else pull their hair.

Ha Balajee, true, I had all 4 Wisdom teeth which parted ways with me, but did not forget to leave a teeny weeny bit of their mark on me, enough to let me realize that you are having me on when you talk of not knowing the word 'synchronicity'. Yes, indeed, it is another word for 'coincidence' but has nothing to do with political correctness - it just indicates (methinks) a phenomenon of repeated coincidences. Somehow, I find the word 'synchronicity' fits better.

As for no wisdom to expound, you are right there. I have just enough left to muddle through my own life, but not quite enough to expound. And no, please don't compare me with a Shashi Tharoor, for the use of big words does not wisdom indicate.
