Jab koi khwab chamakta hai haqeeqat banke ...
koi kismat se chala aata hai, kismet banke..

One of her lesser known songs. From the movie Ahista Ahista (1981). That movie's other song Kabhi kisi ko mukammal jahan nahin milta is more famous. I like Jab koi khwab for its simplicity and how you can listen to it "effortlessly." And there is something sensuous yet innocent in the song.

The sheer depth of sadness and pain when she sings, "zehar bhi chaha agar." Easily my favorite sad song to listen in not-sad times. : )

Wrapping up my favorite Asha songs with Jawani Janeman ... sentimental value... Namak Halal was the first audio cassette I bought just for myself : ) independently from the music store. I like Raat baqi better but Asha ji's birthday calls for at least one fast song.
