@Caughtinbetween no worries please hijack all you want. Just send me 0.5% commission on savings I'm not a traveler either so I don't think miles will help me. For right now Discover seems to be better bet. Have you looked into it ?
Take a look at the Chase Ultimate rewards value What are Chase points really worth? Here's how to calculate Chase points value
Thanks @Laks09 for that valuable input. Any other recommendations for non-traveler and mostly looking for cash back .
My or our rule of thumb is don't put financial information in the "cloud" and definitely don't put too much of it in the same place unless unavoidable. Also, sometimes the comfort level of the husband and the wife varies about putting such financial info online. ===== You also gave an OK to hijack of thread : ) so my 2c and general random questions, mostly not very helpful... Maintaining spreadsheet or using an app and tracking all expenses etc., is it worth the effort. Unless the spending is way out of control, a general look at credit card statements, and looking at few receipts of major shopping places is enough? I faithfully keep all receipts when I shop in India, bring them back, and they faithfully stay in the cabinet along with passports, and Indian cash/sim cards. : ) I did say my 2c were not helpful.............. Does that make it negative 2c? : )
I just picked what I got from the bank and am happy with the cash back. I did get the one with no international fee though. Without that, there were other options for people whose expenses are mostly dining, grocery etc. I didn’t get that one because of the intl fee.
As a first step I have been reading the difference between term insurance and whole insurance. If your company provides life insurance will you still supplement with outside insurance ?If yes which one do you recommend. From what I read term seems to be better for me than whole insurance. I also met with a representative from a whole insurance company. He kind of pitched in whole insurance as investment vehicle.
