I was looking if there was one, for my daughter and found preethi having a model, but waiting to chk the models in shops in person before deciding Even usha has one.
Not quite. Indian pressure cookers cook at 15 PSI. US pressure cookers like Tfal at 13 psi. IP cooks at 10.5-11.5. Its this which makes it a very useful gadget. For eg If I had steamed beans in cooker it would be a mush not fork tender. I can get similar results in reg cooker but they are not consistent and there is quite a bit of baby sitting involved.
The Preeti electric cooker has "Idly" and "pongal" buttons ! If it can make vadai, that would be a complete breakfast maker. Cute !
Hey JAG, do you have dimensions for these containers or better yet, links? May make online shopping easier. I have been looking for stacking options. They used to sell IP compatible stacked pans, complete with perforations 'n all, but no longer. On a different note: Surely you don't mean 1 tablespoon hing? Is that survivable? Typo? It should be 1 tsp, no?
If this helps, found these 2 youtube channels using IP for Indian cooking Making Chai @peartree Tried your pasta. Thank you
Thanks @soumya234 Good timing I too happenec to see this video yesterday and since then have been making tea this way.
Yes that is true.. I am also waiting for them to be back in stock. Another option would be to get some reg steel dabbas from India. Here are few options listed in the FB page for instapot. 1. https://www.amazon.com/…/…/ref=psdcmw_12900081_t1_B0116JNP0K 2. https://www.amazon.com/…/…/ref=psdcmw_12900081_t3_B0196GA0QM 3. https://www.amazon.com/…/…/ref=psdcmw_12900081_t3_B00CUNA1B8 4. https://www.amazon.com/…/…/ref=psdcmw_12900081_t1_B00RAM0BSC Good catch...its 1 tsp. Too late to edit I guess.
@kkrish ..never thought I would make tea in IP..but after seeing ur post I had to try. Made myself just one cup . Came out perfect and i can see why its popular. U just turn it on using PIP method ....set it for 3 min..go about ur work(in my case putting away groceries ) ..when u come back its piping hot ready and waiting AND its a breeze to clean the small vessel inside. Nothing stuck..no pongifying .
