Hi This is a great site! I just have a small suggestion on quoting replies When replying to other's message or quoting a message, the message within quotes should be uneditable. Since there is a provision to edit the reply by the Original poster for a certain period of time, this would be a good idea. Maybe that is not a standard practice like in gmail but in emails there is a trace to the original message whereas here if the OP edits the message within the time limit the original message is lost and someone quoting the original message to reply will have a different version. Thank you!
seems a good idea but some edit if there is a typo or if they feel their response was not apt. some edit if it is perfect with out a typo and with typo they repost @ashima10 is one of them
There should be some middle ground as it is possible that I can take a reply and add my version and get the OP in trouble. Not that anyone is going to do that but it is possible. There was a thread where a user was sharing PM contents online and in those cases it will be more trouble. Also I have heard instances where messages sent in PM being forwarded to others by adding/deleting contents too!
I should not edit your message when quoting/replying to yours. I can edit my own within the time frame
true - it is very much possible. have faced that on pm - now opted out. probably after the edit time permitted, only then it can be quoted - sort of a solution.
I want nomination do it typos ...without any doubt I will win. Tittle will IL fame for typos ! We can use blue ribbons too.
Cant make ur first / third sentence. I can totally understand that u need edit feature and so quoting can be disabled until edit option is diabled
Quoting an entire post in a response is discouraged, for obvious reasons. Quoting part of a post would require that the quoted post be editable.
