It's the same Spirit, Paulina. I did not take my camera for the adoption (had to work that day unexpectedly and then rush to drive 2 hours to be there for the adoption) So it's a low quality cell phone image... :( He got a hair cut just before the adoption and because of the light from behind, his golden fur is washed out in the pic..
But actually, he looked so good, much better than before.. wish I hadn't forgotten the camera.

In other news... Because of the weather - not taking Rusty on long walks these days and so giving him less food so that he doesn't pack on the pounds. (made this mistake last winter)
And now fat boy is driving me crazy looking for food.

Hi deeps,
Here is dashing Rusty boy dressed in dapper blue.Does he like frolicking in the snow? What about his little paws , any frost bite? Poor dearie missing his sunny days and green green grass etc.,No wonder he has a wistful expression...as if something is being terribly missed and he can't figure out what it is!
Good decision to cut down on his food.Guess you can give him more chew sticks to keep him busy with chewing them. Can't really fool him can you??LOL

He nips when I try to put shoes on him.. they don't last long anyway, he destroys all his shoes :(
He loves playing in the snow ... but this winter I am able to walk him without going into the snow too much.
Yep, giving him bones.. and boiled beans to fill him up with less calories.

Great that Rusty is happy with boiled beans and bones. Here our R&J will never go on any diet regime. They will bark and send out long piteous howls till their demands are met .We have no choice but to give in to their blackmailing tactics!
The Vet has told us that Romeo is obese at 48kg! Julius is Ok at 24kg.
We have tried so many changes but not succeeded in R's case ...so it is a case of 'Que sera sera'....what will be will be ! LOL

Rusty was not interested in beans at first but I started eating them before him and making ''ummm... yummmm' noises to pique his interest...Now even I am used to unseasoned boiled beans.. lol.. I also give them between meals so that he is hungry and not too picky.

Hi Paulina, deeps and all Chico lovers,

I reached US last week. The week before my travel, chico's new family went for vacation and so Chico was left at our house for a week until they came back. It was soooo good to have him back though only for a short while. I wanted to upload his pics but it was crazy busy hence the delay.

This was him sleeping using pillow for his neck, crazy guy he is. When I saw him first after 3 months I was skeptical if he would remember me, but the crazy guy just jumped and ran towards me and licked me so much. But while leaving, only I was crying again, he was again excited to see them after a week and went with them happily. Though I felt sad, I was also happy that he got attached with them so much. SO I guess, All is well! :)

Hi Iswarya,

Wonderful to hear from you so soon after arriving in the US of A.Wishing you all the best as you settle down in your new home and new job.
The lovely picture of our dashing handsome CHICO really brought tears to my eyes especially as I read how emotional you were on the final parting day .
Heartwarming to know you got to spend a few more days before the final farewell. The only consolation is that he has a loving home and a very loving family too.But let me now give you all the credit for raising such an adorable doggie. He is able to adjust so well to his change of home and all other routines you had with him without any tantrums. You have happy memories and beautiful pictures to cherish now.We shall all truly miss him here too.He adorned the Pets Forum with all the posts you shared with his fans.
Fare thee well CHICO dearie....

Hi pals ,
Just came across this beautiful piece.....sharing with you all dog lovers/owners.

[h=2]What A Dog Teaches You[/h]
A dog teaches us a lot of things, but we never seem to take notice. These are some of the lessons you might learn…

* When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
* Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
* Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
* When it’s in your best interest, practice obedience.
* Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory.
* Take naps and stretch before rising.

* Run romp and play daily.
* Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
* Avoid biting, when a simple growl will do.
* On warm days stop to lie on your back on the grass. On hot days drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.
* When you’re happy dance around and wag your entire body.
* No matter how often you’re scolded don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout. Run right back and make friends.

* Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
* Eat with gusto and enthusiasm, stop when you have had enough.
* Be loyal.
* Never pretend to be something you’re not.
* If what you want lies buried dig until you find it.
* When someone is having a bad day be silent, sit close by… and nuzzle them gently.

Although dancing around and wagging your entire body may not work for you, it is amazing how many of these observations are right on the mark for getting along in life. So, every so often, stop, contemplate, and participate in the simple pleasures. And when one of your colleagues says, in frustration, "It's a dog's life," answer as enthusiastically as you can, "I certainly hope so!"

When the stress from your hectic life becomes overwhelming, you might want to take a deep breath, relax AND look at your dog for all the advice you need on how to cope. Think about it … from approaching every new day with enthusiasm to finding time for play, our four-legged pals can teach us a lot about the simple things in life! Pet Place.com shares with us a list of the top 22 lessons we can learn from the least likely character in our household.
