Audiobooks

Hello Dear ILites,

I have a question for you all. Audiobooks have become all rage these days... have any of you listened to audio books? What's your experience been like?

I personally don't have any experience with it simply because I don't think that listening to an audio book would be same as actually reading it. For me its like someone telling me the story so that I don't have to read it?! But then again, I also understand the convenience it brings to our fast paced life. You could listen to it while doing your chores, driving or even exercising. It saves a lot of time. But still, to me it feels like cheating because one can say that I have read that book without actually "Reading" it.

But that's my opinion. I would like to know about your experiences and takes on this matter... may be some of you will be able to convince me to try it out once...

 

I know what you mean... My Mom is an excellent story teller yet when I read the stories that she had already narrated to me had a different feel while reading!
