There is a lot of hype about the 6th Pay commission nowadays. Lots of sops and salary revisions are expected for all the government employees. does anyone know when exactly this is going to be implemented?
Teju, The committee is supposed to submit the report. and then it will be considered. there is a long wait. the hype is high. My SIL is also waiting for the same.
Hmm.... Lots of things happening in India. We don't get this minute news information in US about India.
Puni, Lots are happening. so why don't you make a visit... This was discussed in the budget 2008-09 by finance minister and i had mentioned this in the budget discussion thread.
Visit to India??? For this news purpose .. A BIG NO. But meet family, friends and relatives ---- A BIG YES.
Hey puni, That way you can meet at least 50 % of the people from your dreams along with family and friends. I never meant about this news...it is of no use for both of us.
Hi Shanthi, Thanks for the reply. Someone told me it will released before the end of March and implemented by June!! Regards Teju
TEju, Latest news is the sixth pay commission is up for approval and will be released with effect from 1st of 2006/7 . but not all are happy with the scales revision tabulated....
Hi Shanthi, 6th Pay Commission recommendation and implementation strategy is to reduce attrition at Higher ranks, attract employees from private orgs. Now the govt keeps comparing the salaries earned by employess in Private organizations and this time, they are trying to match closer. Though this is a welcome change by the Govt think tanks, we can be sure that the Govt jobs are more cushy jobs and there will not be any improvement in efficiency, abolition of corruption by the 80% of govt staffs. Typically the most Govt staffs from clerical grade to higher ranks earn atleast 10times salary as bribe. Even if govt raises salary by 40%, the crrupted officials won't be happy as its no where close to their real income. Govt should stop comparing the salaries of pvt staff as Pvt staffs do - clear their desk papers quickly (even by putting late night hours) - No job guarantee _ depends on market conditions and economy - Enjoy clean and cosy ambience and luxury travel, pay more taxes - Takes business risks to earn good returns. - No chance of collecting bribe. - Consistent performance earns him/her good returns. - Less leave and holidays - Less flexibility in long leave. Govt should implement all recommendations made by 6th pay commission instead of only pay hikes. Govt should also start a strategy of attracting lateral pvt employees who want to bring in their outside expertise into govt orgs. Govt should encourage NRI and Indian phd scholars to do research in India by providing them good salary and perks. Note: No personal offernses meant for any sincere govt Iladies and families.
