I agree with you that we have been using the doubles to stress and emphasise a point.... But when somebody delivers twins.....bonktsk..........

Real attempt to bring the sound effect. When i saw the name of the thread, i thought it was going to be some sound effect from movie or present hammering pop songs.
I am left with nothing for everybody seems to have filled in with the sound effects.
But i would also like to mention some rhyming sound effects we use.

labaku labaku nu ippadaan saptu chattu bhuttunu yeda gudama edhavadu panni genni tholaikada mala malanu kannu mannu theriyama type panren, yaaravadu kezhvi gezhvi keta enaku kovam varum, gappu chippu nu irunga!
pala pala nu irukkaadu ennoda post ana perusu perusa takku takknu reply anupuven.

Hope you got what i wanted to say. We are so addicted to repetition and rhyming. I use them very often. My pati used to use rhyming words for every time when she instructs us to do something. We really inherit those from the previous generation only to pass it on.
