    Hi All,

Hey anyone there in Singapore who has also resided in Dubai for sometime..need ur help asap.
We are currently residing in Dubai & now hubby's got a job opportunity in Singapore. Can't make up our minds as
to relocate to Singapore or not. The salary's comparable, but I guess
savings won't be the same after the tax cut. But then we are tempted
by the fact that travel to southeast asia becomes easier once we land
    there.

Would like to know how the lifestyle in Singapore compares to that in Dubai.
I guess it rains a lot in Singapore but does that become a prob at times?
If having a car is too costly there, do people ride bikes around?
Are there events & concerts happening in Singapore with bollywood stars
    etc as in Dubai?
Can our kids go to local schools or PR required for that?
In case they do attend local schools in Singapore does getting into an Indian curriculum becomes difficult upon return to India?
Overall for people who have stayed in Dubai and now reside in Singapore, do u all miss Dubai or regret ur decision to move coz of any reasons?

Please please help us to make up our minds by providing the answers to my questions.

    Hi,
i dont know much about dubai but iam have come to singapore just few months back from saudi. To my knowledge i will try to give u some information.

    1. this is a gud place for indians to live as india without any restrictions.
    2. As for savings , u may not have much as in dubai as u dont have tax cutting there, but cost of living is same like dubai mostly.
    3. regarding schools, we do have many indian schools here and admission is not at all a problem. yaa we can also go for local schools we dont need any PR for this. but kids have to go 1yr less class or some exam which the school will let u know.
if u opt for local schools they r gud by education wise and cost wise, but when u go back to india i may take time for them to get back to indian syllabus.i too have 2kids they r in indian school of cbse syllabus.
    4. here maintaining car a bit tough as we have to pay for parking also and road taxes r heavy as i heard. here the means of transport is very very confortable so no need of car what i felt.
5.yes here some or other concerts will b going on all the time so dont worry abt entertainment not only that we havemany other cultural activities tooo.
    6. yes it will b raining all the time, but people here will get habited for it and it doesnt bother any work, we go ahead like that.

i think u got ur answers. if anything more u would like to know pls post ur questions.

All the best for u and ur fmly.

    Hi,
I was born and brought up in S'pore. It's the best place to live as far as I'm concerned, for the children the schools are good -had to learn Malay language and Tamil- it's easy can pick up -so total 3 languages- that was more than 30 years back - but my folks are still there -life's worth living if you are in S'pore!
