    I'd say Magic Bullet - serves for milkshakes, making chutney or pastes for small quantity cooking.

    Hand Blender for making quick batters without lumps.

    Oh you asked for kitchen and cleaning. no major gadget for Cleaning other than vacuum cleaner .
    for general use :
    HoMedics neck massager pillow - wonderful quick relief for tiredness.

    I love my blender Oster from Costco. I also got one for my mom a few years ago and my best friend uses it for some 15 years now.

    I use it for all blending purposes:
    crush ice and frozen berreis to make smoothies
    grinding fresh and frozen coconut
    masalas for north indian preparations
    Adai batter
    I used it for idly batter before I bought my ultra
    that's what I can think of right now.
