Let me tell me my experiences:

My pregnancy itself started with lots of worries. I didnot get my pregnancy confirmed for close to 55 days inspite of me doing urine tests almost every other day. I got so worried as I didnot get my periods also. So our family doctor arranged for a blood test and it confirmed my pregnancy, still my gynec was not so sure and she ordered immediate scan.

The scan results were also very weak and I was asked to come for a second scan to confirm the pregancy in another 10 days time. (As I had a previous abortion gynec was so concerned). Then it got confirmed, my husband got transferred. My MIL fell ill and as there will be no one to take care my husband was forced to leave me with my parents.

My ill MIL passed away when I was 5 months pregnant and it came as a shock for me as she was not just my husband's mother and my MIL but a good friend after my mother. I loved her adored her and wanted her to be with me to raise my kids. But I was so unfortunate.

As it was my first pregnancy and as my parents place was a 1 hour drive to the hospital where I am supposed to deliver, me and my mother moved to my uncle's house which was near the hospital. Till the due date I didnot get any pain but the night before the due date I got spotting and on the due date by the evening my water broke and I started getting my labour pains. My pains were progressing so slowly, and when it was just a matter of half an hour for delivery my gynec found that the baby's heartbeat is getting lower when I am in intense pain and when I push.

Gynec spoke to me that if this situation continues, the baby will be blue baby, so it is advisable to have a c-section. I immediatly agreed for it and signed the papers without even consulting my parents who were eagerly waiting outside the delivery room. But incidently they came to know as I was shifted to the operation theater.

And I delivered a beautiful girl.

Here comes the last story from my side:
We had just moved to the new house and as it was Navartri and as I didnot want to miss even a single day I took pills to postpone the periods (though with the advice from the doctor). But I ended up getting pregnant :idontgetit: .

Everything went smooth and I went to my mother's place only by the 8th month as my daughter was going to school. Attended so many functions after that time. My grandfather's 80th birthday and my BIL's son's Poonal (I was almost full term). I got my pains 13 days prior to due date, rushed to the hospital and got admitted. But the pain didnot increase. It was just the same and no improvement. Doctor advised me to return home and come back after I get a good amount of pain. Then after 3 days I got severe pain and was rushed again to the hospital.

As the gynec was in a meeting she too rushed but asked the nurse to take care of me. There comes the real part, the nurse said, why are you acting like this, you will not deliver today and you will have to go back again. Dont create problems for us. Saying so she examined me and wrote the report sheet also so.

Luckily my gynec came in another 5 mins and she was shocked to see the report as I was just 6 cms to deliver. I was rushed to the delivery room and delivered within halfan hour of admission.

Though she did a mistake I felt bad for the nurse when she was dismissed.

    Hi Rajmi,

This is a wonderful thread. It was nice reading your experiences. Thanks for posting them.

So you had a C-section for the first pregnancy and a normal delivery in the second? I was on the assumption that, if the first one is a C-section, then doctors won't wait for a normal delivery during second pregnancy.. Even my SIL's experiences were like that.

I have 3 SIL's. The elder 2 had C-sections in both deliveries. The younger one had a normal delivery and then a C-section.

I would also like to post my experiences and my mother's experiences in this thread.

    Hi manjumnair,

Your assumption is wrong. It depends on the reason why the first delivery was a c-section. in my case, i did not have any contractions, something do with my pelvic..my first was a c-section and my second was a elective c-section as it was known that there was not much chance of a normal delivery and i had complications .
In rajmi's case i think it was done as the heartbeat of the baby was low, and could not withstand for a normal delivery.
