With the financial year coming to an end, all of us working in MNC’s would be getting prepared for the yearly ritual of completing our Annual Appraisals. All those working women please go ahead and fill in the ordeals faced during your appraisals. Let’s use this space to discuss issues like: · How did you convince your manager/supervisor to give you a rating that you deserve? · How do you react to negative feedback? · How is your mindset when you receive a poor rating? · Do you get frustrated/jealous when your colleague gets a better rating than you?? Oh no the same topic we had and still discussing through intranet :spin Money matters..And i realize this every financial year ending :rotfl Also recognition matters right..So a tough fight raises up for designation and increments.. This year things are different for me.. I joined a start up company 1.5 yrs back..And i am proud to be a part of this team and itz product...Last month end we had a rumor which turned into reality within few days..yes a biggie has acquired us impressed by our product clap Though we loose an individuality getting into such biggies aren't that easy these dayz..so most of us are happy in a way.. So all increments and appraisals are put on hold for the moment..By June we will be given what we had promised matching new company's policy and rules. we are also eagerly waiting for such season to start in our company. last 2 years we are on the same package and everyone needs a hike in one or the other way. and reg the questions ... 1. negative feedback: if it is real true feedback and if iam also really thinking of it inside , i will try to take it normally. 2. poor rating: definitely I will try to ask for more details as why and what etc . while asking i wish to keep my voice as cool as possible else it will give more negative effect. 3. surely be frustrated if not jealous when my colleague(who is junior to me in all aspects like skills , experience , communication etc) gets a better rating than me. there should be justification to myself at least if a same level person gets better . but i will surely not ask about other pals rating. comparing with others in-front of a manager makes them think of us as very unprofessional. final one word is, if nothing is as per our expectations , there will so many other options to think of. it varies from person to person depending upon our own situations. what do u people say?
i am nt happy with this years hike i got seems a biased decision this time and the reason they gave me for less hike is saying that i am the highest paid in my profile so cant exceed bandwidth:bowdown
Anvitha, Thanks for your reply. True. A member in my team who is defenitely junior in all aspects mentioned by you always gets a better rating than the rest. The member just has a good rapport with the manager and hence such an outcome. But sadly we cannot confront our managers when they give the other person a better rating than us(when we truly deserve it). But how exactly can we avoid becoming victims of such biased actions?? True again!!
Hi All, This year our company's appraisals have turned out to be a better compared to last year's.Last year no appraisal :-( ...reason as u all know recession :rant I really wanted to get a good appraisal this year....But i got conceived ...had to take a 6 month break...and so becoz of this gap,my appraisal dint turn out to be gud but was not very bad either...career wise...but personally, i was gifted with awesome hike...my little Baby gal :gift...biggest Hike any women can get in her life Next year will give a gud try and get my ratings and appraisals back

this is true . this is followed in so many companies .% wise juniors will get more and seniors has the barriers. very sad and cant do anything for that
