    Hi All,

    Greetings.....

I have been offered a job there at Dubai (well it's not exactly Dubai - it's a one hour drive from Dubai) for 12K AED per month, the same does not include any accomodation, but they are offering me other benefits like - medical insurance, air tickets re-imburesment and other perks also (waiting for my offer letter to come).

so, pleae suggest me that whether considering 12K AED per month is a good idea or not and please brief me abou the following -

    (1) apartment rent on sharing basis in Dubai (including water and electricity)

    (2) Cost of meals per day (Breakfast-lunch-dinner)

    (3) cost of transportation (what criteria is being followed - like - person had to pay as per kilometer per hour like in Delhi or is there a flat rate of travelling from one location to another).

    I am a non-drinker, non-smoker, eggetarian guy.

Please advise me that should i accpe the offer or not as I also want to save good enough amount from my earnings.

    Thanks,
    Rishi

    Hi

    12K is a decent salary

    Answer to your questions.

    1. depends on where do you want to stay. In Dubai cost may vary from dirhams 1000 - 2000 for a room, all inclusive, in Sharjah it will be lesser, all inclusive

    2. cost will be around maximum of 25 - 30 dirhams

    3. transportation cost is per km. Minimum is AED 10 and then starts calculating per km. again when you travel inter-emirates, additional 20 is required to be paid. there are car lifts available, which will cost you less depending on the place you reside.

you can visit www.gulfnews.com and have a look at the classifieds section. it will give you a fair idea.

Thanks a bunch to Malathy and Ragini :)

I came to know that I'll be deputed in Ras Al Khaimah in RAK Bank, now I'll be thankful to both of you too and I'll feel lucky if i get suggestions or assitsnace from few other people.

My basic queries (for staying there in Ras Al Khaimah) -

    1. Room availability and Rent (Tough or easy to get and can i get the same on Sharing basis being a single at the moment?)

    2. As far as security is concerned, so is Ras Al Khaimah is a good place to live?

    3. Transportation facilities and food availability there and cost.

    4. At Last, out of 12K per month, how much I can save maximum?

    Please assist...
    Thanks & Best Regards
    Rishi :)

    Hi Rishi,

RAKBank is a great bank to work for. what are you joining as. Congratulations.

RAK is a developing Emirate. It is much cheaper when compared to Dubai, so your savings will be quite good, not to worry.

Also security wise UAE is quite safe, except for a few stray incidents.

so all the best in your new job.

    HAi Rishi,
    Congrats!
According to me its a good offer.
Cost of living in RAK is too less when compared to Dubai & Abu Dhabi.
If you are a bachelor , your coust of living will be 5000 aED.I am sure its more than enough for you.

    Hi Rishi,

congrats!..sure you can save 8000AED..few months back i have visited RAK..its a very small Emirate..taxi charges are very cheap and there is no traffic in the whole city, since the population is very, very less compared to Dubai and Abu dhabi..now i remember that i have seen your RAK bank also there..good offer!..
