INTERVIEW- shocking

Dear All,

I would like to share an experience that happened to me today and really shook me up. I am still angry that such things happen.

I have now resigned my job and am looking for a change. So as most of us do I look thorugh the classified and also never fail to buy the "Free Ads" every sunday. As I was going through the "Free Ads" this week I came across an ad asking for personal secretary. I called that number and the guy who answered it said it was a Job from his home. I thought it was his home cum office and said I do not mind. I asked him for his address and he said it would be difficult to find his house so he gave me the nearest point and said he would pick me up from there.

I went and he did come and pick me up. As I got into the car I asked him what his mode of business was. He said he is the Regional Manager- south for a reputed Educational Organisation. I was shocked to see his home. it had no infrastructure for an office. It was a single bedroom apartment and I observed that it looked more like a place where he just comes to sleep. The kitchen had no signs of cooking. When I asked him where the work place would be he said it would be in the center of the city. I asked him then how come he is conducting the interview in his home if he had an office. He said since he had his next appointment near his residence he thought he would meet me here. He never asked me for my resume or anything work related. I asked him about the timings and he said it would be 9-6 like any office and a 6 day week. He said the sal would be about 15K a month. He added that all could be flexible depending on me. Then he asked me whether I would be flexible. I told him the word flexible can mean anything and to be specific. he said he wanted me to be flexible personally. I was so angry and told him I had to leave. He said he was sorry but had to make the scope of work very clear before he recruits anyone.

I quickly took and auto and returned home. I was thankful that I did not even have a glass of water when he offiered it to me.

The whole thing has shaken me badly.

I am wondering what kind of a person he would be and what the world is coming to. I wonder how many girls would respond to his ad and what would he do to them.

I feel I escaped because of my age and I was very weary once I entered his house.

By posting this here I want every women to be aware that such dangerous things are happening, I want to warn the youngsters just out of college to be very careful when they attend interviews and never to get carried away by promises.

Thanks for your response. I also thought I should go to the police and report this. But it would be a very dirty situation (expecially in India) I live with my 22 year old daughter, my DH is in another town, and the experience could be traumatic for both.
