Is the H1B cap for 2011 already over?Please urgent!

    Dear Ladies,

    When i approached one of the consultants today to file H1 for me ,he said the quota for the current year is already over.I searched in the USCIS website but could not find relevant info.

    So ladies please tell me whether the H1B cap for 2011 is already over/if not from when should i start applying in 2010 ( incase i find someone who can sponser me).

    I read else where that USCIS typically accepts H1B visa petition for 2011 quota starting April 1<SUP>st</SUP> of 2010. Please clarify.

    The consultant might have meant cap for current fiscal year. Thats true, H1b cap for fiscal year 2010 was filled by december 2009. For fiscal year 2011, USCIS will start accepting applications by Apr 01. But many consultants are not willing to file new H1B these days; you'll have a hard time finding someone.
