It's quite easy to buy one here with easy access to whichever car we need to buy. But back home I guess its a bit of struggle? :( We are planning to purchase a car for our family back home and I need all your inputs/advices/suggestions please :)

With my BIL's inputs, we have shortlisted i20 and Maruthi DZire VXI. The former being an hatchback, I am not too keen and I rather own a sedan over it. What do you guys think. Anyone own, any of these? what's your experience.. like it/hate it ?

Also he says for DZire, it takes around 5 months for delivery :hiya and even for test drive it might take months. Wow.. why such a delay, did any of you have the same issue? Our budget is 6L, please do suggest any good model you guys think other than the above too :)

Eagerly waiting for your responses

    Yeah... I love Hyundai !!!
We had Hyundai Santro and I know more than 20 people having Hyundai brands, like Zing, i20,i10, Sonata, Accent and even Teracan too !!

For aged people like my MIL , it will be easy to sit without bending much !! She will at times lay down comfortably when going on long distance trip !!

    Nandhu,

Indha forum ippo daan pathen. Did you try in carwale.com. They have good threads and discussions.

As Gowri said, almost everyone of my relatives or friends own either one of the hyundais or hondas.

I feel hyundai is much more comfortable than honda. So far I have traveled only by maruthi 800 and omni, but never felt that smooth as hyundai ride :)

    Nandu,

Sorry for stepping in, because i don't own any here.I call a cab/auto no problems of maintaining or any other risks..(reason i am not allowed to drive..)

personally, we love mitsubishi series, (It was our first one.) now dh uses vw passat.

I know people in my circle, using hyundai, and there are others who still vouch for the service and accessibility of parts from maruthi.

There is a column in the hindu on wednesday, where people ask for comparisons, opinions, and also functionalities..(like in your case it is older people)..the email id is metrowheels@gmail.com.

I personally feel, a car is more than just medium for transport.

Uma.. thanks.. yeah we have been thru all these sites.. carwale, gaadi, cardekho... It's just that I wanted some personal opinions from owners I know

Honda, we have no inclination to it... the short list was either hyundai i20 or Maruthi dzire. Good to hear that the suspension in the car is good.. we need it good ones for indian roads..:p :p

Shan, thanks for your post :) I agree, car is more than a mode of transport... thanks for the email :) :) Hope I get some info from them...

    hi nandhu

back home we were also having Hyundai Santro. Yes it is really good for old people, to get in, bcoz the seats are little higher, and also good for long distance travel.

Few of our friends were having i10, and they too had good opinion about it.

Further Hyundai, services and theier service centre are also easily accesible.

    The ride is also smooth.
