Dear Chithra, A beautiful piece. The very setting of the Gita itself reflects life...one is pitted against ones own near and dear due to various reasons - ego, jealousy, not-so-noble intentions...and elders are many times 'forced' to take sides, rather than remain neutral !! And one is also sometimes forced to adopt tricky strategies in order to prove one's point! That is why I personally admire Mahabharatha more than any other epic (incl Ramayana) 'cos I feel it mirrors reality so much....and Bhagavad Gita is a great life guide to us and has emerged through Mahabharatha... Thanks Ma'am.. With love Pavithra
Dear Pavithra, Thankyou for joining us in this thread. Is there not a daily Kurukshetra in our lives ? I plan to write a post on the same. There is a misconception that Gita teaches detachment; but i personally experience "detached attachment" after learning Gita, which is very essential for today's life. We also learn to accept situations & people as they are & not expect them to change for our sake. Love, Chithra. <xml id=yoombaxml></xml>
Dear Madam C, It is so nice to read Gita how it began. You have explained it so well using simple terms so, we could follow. Thank you so much.
Dear Madhu, Welcome to this sub-forum. I am glad that you liked this post. Please stay tuned. Love, Chithra. <xml id=yoombaxml></xml>
Dear C Extremely glad to see the much awaited Gita lessons starting and many thanks for that!!! Krishna placing the chariot in front of Bhishma and Drona gives a new perspective. He wanted to put Arjuna through the mental turmoil and them clarify him so that He can leave back Gita for us...! How fortunate we are. Thanks for pointing this out. Looking forward to the subsequent lessons. So, is the next week's Vedantic focus Sharira Thrayam - 3? -Gayathri.
Dear Gayathri, Nice to see your feedback - you are always on the dot. Remember I point out only what my thoughts focus on ! Next week will be Avastha thrayam - the three states of experience ! Please stay tuned ! Love, Chithra. <xml id=yoombaxml></xml>
Dear chitra mam, Thanks for the wonderful write up on the birth of Gita. After reading your post it is easy to understand and eagerly waiting for the next one. cheers sreelatha
Dear Chithra Madam, My long time thirst is getting quenched by your threads on Gita. And I am really happy to see the same thirst in others too. Awaiting the next one to come. regards, Vanaja
Mrs.c, A very nice explanation of the beginning of Gita. I managed to read through the dhyana slokas and I am trying to familiarise myself with the 1st chapter. Your explanations sure help. Also I am very happy to see all your postings under a separate heading. I am hoping you can start explaining one Gita verse at a time sometime in the near future.
Dear Sreelatha, Thankyou for the feedback. I am happy, you have become a regular visitor to my threads. I will go with Gita, very slowly & steadily, because technical terms have to be explained & understood, in the right perspective. Please continue with me. Love, Chithra. <xml id=yoombaxml></xml>
