what to do with the old kurta

    hi friends
    i am new to this site. so may be i have been wrong at many places. plz guide me for it. I have a lots of long kurtas which were wear by me only 2 or 3 times but now it all are in the state of rejection becoz i have gain weight. i ca not give it to anybody becoz many of them are gifted to me by my DH and DM.
    now i have an idea to alter those into the fabulous ladies tops so that i can wear them with jeans. but i am clueless from where to start.(even i do not know much abt stiching:hide:) can you plz help me out?

    First check out whether you can loose then i.e., if they already have extra stitches which can be removed to loosen that. Otherwise you can just visit a near by tailor and get extra stitches done.

    Remove extra stitches and cut it from down. Add fancy lace or a bit of fabric work will also look fine. Also you can cut it short and out of those cloths make something frill kind. If you can share few pictures we will be able to guide you properly.

    depending on the material, you can also turn it into pillow covers or bags.

    first of all check the seams if there is a lot of margin then simply open a few stitches from the sleeves a few from armhole and afew from side seam and stitch along the previous previous stitches along the sides to you required seam and then open the previous seam and shorten the length OR
    try the various desings which are prevalent today using cut work but this is the only thind=g we can suggest without seeing the picture
