Will smith’s Gemini man
I liked Bhumi Pednekar's role too, but her make-up was awful. The director also said in an interview to rediff that it is difficult to do good quality make-up that stays on well when shooting in the heat of Lucknow and Kanpur. Her face looked like amateur make-up for a village play. : ) The climax ... I was hoping for a more predictable ending. But yes, move has a good message for society. Also, reminds us that baldness is not nice to make fun of even if the person is sportive about it, internally they may be sensitive about it.
I also almost missed watching this. Watched it only as there was no other palatable option that evening on einthusan, Amazon, Netflix. My only quibble was that I wish Sandhya Mridul had a better role than just the lawyer's wife with few scenes.
A Man Called Ove - Swedish with English subtitles. 2017. Academy award nominated for Best Foreign Language Film.
Synopsis from the trailer in YouTube:
59 year old Ove is the block's grumpy man who several years earlier was deposed as president of the condominium association, but he could not give a damn about being deposed and therefore keeps looking over the neighborhood with an iron fist. When pregnant Parvaneh and her family moves into the terraced house opposite and accidentally backs into Ove's mailbox it turns out to be an unexpected friendship. A drama comedy about unexpected friendship, love and the importance of surrounding yourself with the proper tools.
Beautiful movie with a simple story well presented.
Do serials qualify?
ENPT - Little disappointed against the boosted expectation. Felt the length is too long compared to recent movies. Maruvarthai song is my daily hummer tune. Sid Sriram`s voice did not synchronize with Dhanush `s. Dhanush has soft voice texture. But listening the song alone is heavenly. First half hour is dead slow and picks up after intermission.
Sye ra Narasimha reddy - real and fiction mixed
It was interesting to watch how all the scenes in the first teaser of Maruvarthai panned out throughout the movie.
Interesting bits of: voice over, action, police drama, sentiment, love all sprayed over though inconsistent.
Watched The Irsihman for 2 hours. Found it to be a bit of a drag at that time, went to sleep. Later, I read reviews and nominations, might watch the last part.
Official Secrets starring Keira Nightley. Good one based on the true story of a British intelligence specialist who leaks a memo related to the Iraq War. Ralph Fiennes as her attorney is impressive.
