What Do You Take It As Gift For Baby Shower Function..

Hi all,
I am attending a baby shower function. This is my neighbor. She moved recently here. I have never been to her house.
So, I am not sure what should I gift her for baby shower?
Any ideas please?
P.S: I have never attended any baby shower functions in US...so i really don't have any idea...

Is it a surprise for her? If not, there might be a baby registry where she has registered and lists the things she needs.

If not sure, and visiting her house for the first time, you can play it safe by giving an item like a fancy receiving blanket of neutral color. I would give a picture frame for baby pictures. Go to any baby store in your area or the baby section of Target etc., and pick something that looks "cute". Avoid clothes for the baby (size/fit can be hard to guess). Ask for gift receipt at the checkout, so she can return it easily.

I hope they still give gift receipts.. Maybe I am out of date!

I will check it out in the stores.
Yeah.. they will give gift receipts..I usually get that for birthday gifts.It's easy for them to return if they don't like.
