Hi Chennaiwoman you can go to Yelagiri which is 180 km from chennai near Vellore. Its a hill and beautiful place to spend couple of days there. You have lots of resorts and hotels to stay.
Another ideal weekend get-away is Pondicherry. The French culture, architecture and cuisine, the corniche, Aurobindo Ashram, Matri Mandir....put together gives you a serene calmness. A complete contrast from your day to day life in Chennai. It is also not very crowded, so you can afford to take a nice, lazy walk along the corniche and streets of the old French city. Take a ride in ECR.. You have many places to visit.. Start in the morning.. Go to boating, crocodile park, lunch @ any resort, VGP/MGM, mahabs, stay in a resort there, u can also further go down till pondy or return back the same way.. Have a rocking weekend..
