    Hi,

I tried to prepare vazhaipoo poriyal today. Removed the inner part of vazhaipoo properly and dipped it in sour butter milk. But, while preparing the poriyal it was tooooo bitter.. Dunno what went wrong? Ladies, lemme know the reason and how to rectify the bitter taste.

Yes, i cut them and soaked it in buttermilk y'day night and cooked it today morning.. But, in some recipe sites i saw the same procedure of soaking it over night.. So, thought thats not the reason for it..

    Hi Sowmya,

My mom suggested me this.. whenever start removing the inner part itself, taste a small piece, if it is not bitter, then go ahead with the procedure.. if it is bitter, then don't use it..

Even in India, some of the vazhaipoo tastes bitter.
