    Dear all

Thought of sharing a short story, which has a moral for all of us.

This is a true story which took place in Japan.

In order to renovate his house, a man breaks open the walls in his house. In Japan, houses are usually built with hollow spaces between the wooden walls. While tearing down the walls, he was surprised to find a lizard with it feet stuck between a nail and the wall.

Seeing this, the man was pitiful and curious at the same time, as the nail was hammered 10 years back, while building the house.

But how did this lizard survive in this position for 10 years behind the dark walls without moving even a single step? The man was puzzled and surprised and pondered how this could be possible.

So he briefly stopped his work, and tried to observe the lizard, wondering what this lizard might have done all this while, without eating or moving. Quite soon, another lizard appeared with food in its mouth. Ah! The man was stunned and touched by the sight. The lizard stuck in the wall had been fed by the other lizard all these years!

Just imagine, this lizard had been painstakingly feeding the other lizard for 10 years without giving up hope on its partner.

Will you be able to serve your partner with such dedication?

Would you be able to serve your mother, the one who brought you up after a big struggle for nine months? Or, at least to your father, friend, colleague, brother or sister?

Think what a creature with five senses can do, something a man with six senses cant.

The moral behind this story is, never abandon your loved ones. Never ignore them or leave them when they truly need you. You may have the entire world at your feet, but keep in mind that you are the world to them. A moment of negligence will break the very heart that loves you through all odds. Before you can say a word that might be damaging, remember that it takes a moment to break, but an entire lifetime to make.

“Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.” The Buddha

    Hi deraj
that was a nice story which communicates lot to us. Love must be unconditonal. But the sixth sense species we always boast to be fail compared to mere animals. We have a lot to learn from the above story.

Beautiful story Deraj. Totally amazing how the other lizard managed to keep this one alive all these years. They are far more superior. Their thought process is very simple and pure but we humans make it complicated. Thank you for sharing. A nice lesson indeed.

    Dear Raj,
A nice story. The other day I read a news about a dog which tried to rescue children from a burning hut. Unfortunately both children died in spite of the dog's brave deed. We have to learn a lot from animals, birds and nature.
    Thanks for sharing the story,
    Love,
    PS
