April 7, Friday - Ekadashi.

This Ekadashii is referred as Kamada Ekadashi.

Kamada Ekadashi falls on the 11Th day after the New Moon day in the Chaitra month (March-April). It is observed like any other Ekadashi in veneration of Lord Vishnu with fasting and praying. As the term Kamada signifies fulfillment of wishes, observance of Kamada Ekadashi fulfills all the worldly desires of the devotees. It relieves one of his sins and the effects of demonic curses and purifies the consciousness of a person. It relieves a person of the sin of killing a Brahman.

गङ्गा गीता च गायत्र्यपि च तुलसिका गोपिकाचन्दनं तत् सालग्रामाभिपूजा परपुरुष तथैकादशी नामवर्णा: ।

From above verse in Narayaneeyam, we are able to understand that performing any one of these simple things like dipping in Ganges, reading Bhagavad Gita chanting Gayatri Mantra, performing puja at home with Tulasi, applying Gopi Chandan, doing Saligramam pooja, observing Ekadashi vrat and chanting His Name will lead one to salvation in the easiest way.

Dear Ilits,
Hope all Chennaities exspecially mylai people knew stories and concepts of 63var Thiruviza.
all 10days have more important .
Hope you know , on 63 day. Morning Angham poompaavai coming out of ash pot Pooja is held.
Evening apart from all 63 Nayanmaars,and kapaleeshwar,all deities from. And around Mylapore also come for procession.
Wonderful sight,of course full crowd too.
Mundakanni amman ,kolavizi amman etc are few deities,where small babes are kept for few mints on their laps,to get the blessings.
Out of joy
Many people supplies biscuits. Choclates,on behalf of their kids to all .
Join and get the blessings,at least once in your life time.

In Kapaleshwarar temple, the famous Arupathumoovar festival is celebrated with pomp and festivity. The idol of Lord Kapaleshwarar moving forward with the idols of 63 Nayanmars moving backward on the eighth day of Panguni Uthiram festival is a rare scene to be seen. Deities of other temples like Vairamudi Swami, Mundakaani Amman, Kolavizhi and Thiruvalluvar Vasuki also take part in the festival. Thaneer pandal during the festival is organized to quench the thirst of the devotees who participate in the festival.

The event most devotees look forward to, the Arupatthumoovar festival, when the 63 Saivite saints (Nayanmars) - Arupathu Moovar - emerge from the temple in tiny palanquins amidst chanting by vedic pundits is on April 9, Sunday.
