Planning to start horlics with wholemilk soon for my 15 months old son.As you all know gonna give junior horlics stage 1. There are two flavours in it a) Chocolate b) caramel Caramel is not impressive, meaning,we adults ourselves would find it hard to drink it happily. It has no taste at all. Chocolate is good,But, is it ok to prefer it.Coz they might get addicted to that chocolate flavour(cocoa). Kindly help me.
Hey Cindhu, How is your lil son doing? Doctors usually advice to stay away from flavours if you want to give horlicks then give the regular stuff with the paed's advice of course!
hi janani, Thanks for the reply.Yeah all are fine.Wish the same from you too. Yes my dr always advices to avoid choco based malts like boost, bournvita and stuff,so i guess he will not prefer chocolate horlics too.Hmmm will try my luck with caramel flavour. Others please let me know if there are any healthy options.
cindhuja, doesnt your son drink the plain milk? if he drinks plain one without any problem,i dont think you should add any other malt..just my opinion..
hi, Thanks for the suggestion.Yeah it is good to have plain milk but horlics isnt harmful infact it is has few essential elements. Moreover my son is slightly underweight so Dr recommends this. I have purchased original flavour horlics.Yet to try.Let me update soon. Thanks all.
Even pedia grow is advised only after two years! So a little bit of sugar in his milk will do I guess!
cindhuja, please avoid these malts till he completes 2. and even after that its isnt advisable..am wondering that a paed suggested you to add these..my Paed says no to all these..even he is against pediasure
