I spend my afternoons in the garden, alone.

Playing in the swing and letting the gentle balmy breeze brush my face.

I sing songs and talk to pretend friends.

I walk into my garden and settle down on the grass.

They come... one by one, displaying a new colour everyday.

As light as the air around me, a gentle whirring sound drops in my ear.

Such acrobats! Balancing just on the tip of a grass-blade. Or a ballet dancer!

I lie on the grass with the sun shining bright above our heads.

I hold him by those fragile wings.

He stirs and his long tail tickles my palm.

We smile at each other. His forelegs join together saying ‘namaste’ to me.

I sing to him the same song from yesterday. And I offer him a tiny pebble on my palm.

He never fails to charm me. Today, he lifts the tiny pebble with just the forelegs.

Impressive! A clean lift and very strong grip!

Holding long enough, he drops it back on my palm and flies away.

    And now, the next charmer!

    Dear K2S,

Even though they don't have the sixth sense to discriminate, they understand what is expected out of them and never fail to give happiness to other species by such little actions. Like a child, we (with discrimination power) need to learn to mingle with them respecting their coexistence and leaving their habitat in tact without changing the environment. The world will be a better place to live.

Thank you for this wonderful blog.

Absolutely! In the name of progress we shut so many things around us. We should never stop being a child. The minute we say that we know something, everything stops right there. Only a child can see the beauty of simple things with no attachments. There is no discrimination in their eyes. No colours; not even black or white. Just white! How wonderful is that! Thank you for appreciating Viswaji. I am glad the post meant something to you. Happy to share one simple moment of my life filled with nothing but joy.
