WOW... the pics and the description of your journey took me to assam....a place i have always wanted to go. I had been to guwahati when i was young but dont remember much about the visit. North east has always fascinated me ... and now your post has whetted my interest again.... will ask you for pointers when i visit assaam.

Wow, Sudha loved the photographs, so couldn't resist coming here again Was the visit to the mask maker and Bihu dance a part of your tour package or did you make your own arrangements for that? The ensemble (I forget the name) the dancers are wearing has such rich weaving. Did you buy assamese saree? I have always wished to buy one and I checked prices on their silk sarees - they are prohibitive! So I did the next best thing - settled for their dress material. And what a coincidence - I'm wearing it today! Sindhu
