Hello Ladies Let me share a little secret I came to know about the link between SALT, WATER and the DOUBLE CHIN. When the body is short of salt, means the body is really short of water. We are too preoccupied in our daily lives to notice this fact. The salivary glands sense the water shortage and produce more saliva to lubricate the act of chewing. The water supply to the stomach for digestion is also taken care by the salivary glands. Now the OVER WORKING salivary glands needs more blood circulation and the blood vessels become LEAKY in order to supply the glands with the water to secrete more saliva. This leakiness spills beyond the glands themselves and results in the bulky chin, cheeks and neck. On the other hand excess intake of salt creates water retention which leads to puffiness. The face is that part of the body which holds the excess water, resulting in the double chin. Reduce salt intake and increase the water intake. It is always better to check the salt levels in the body and if you have the habit of consuming less water, increase the consumption up to 6 - 8 glasses. This the story of the relation between salt, water and double chin. Heredity, posture, obesity and age also could cause double chin.
