[IMG]The three occasions in which Lord himself hurried to rescue his devotees are always mentioned in various slogas, kritis & stories. The three devotees Gajendran,Drowpathi & Prahladhan are the embodiments of Saranagathi ie Total Surrender to the Supreme Lord.
You may think they are mere characters in Puranas. ofcourse...they are characters But,what is Puranas ?
Vedhas are Laws and Puranas are the implementation of Vedas, the laws It is easy for us to understand the concepts in the form of stories. We can also remember the stories more readily than defenitions. In my older post The Art of Happiness itself, we have seen that the ultimate goal of life is Happiness.Vedas help us to reach the goal preaching Dos & Don'ts.Puranas explains it rather in a simple way & help us to fulfill our goal.
Another point noteworthy to mention here is the three devotees Gajandra,Drowpathy & Prahlathan were not scholars or yogisThey reach the feet of Lord due to their full faith, devotion. They show a path for us.After hearing these Puranas,we get an enthusiasm that we can also reach God.This is the purpose of Puranas.

God will reward you according to your faith, devotion. If you have 100% faith, definetely HE will come and save you.If your bhakthi is 50% HE will reward accoding to it only.A teacher while evaluating a answer sheet,he will give marks according to the answer written in the paper.Without writing proper answer, how can we blame the teacher ? This is the case in bhakthi also.

I conclude with a quote by Sri Srivatsa Jayaram Sarma in his Narayaneeyam discourse.
"To realize God, Close your brain valve and open your heart valve"

Our little brain should work off to go nearer to our lord. Because so long as the brain is working, it will shake all our faith. The indomitable faith is always shaken by our mind. The mind is the maker. So close this brain valve and open your heart valve, which will take us to our dearer god. God should be experienced and should not be understood. Understanding is the brain’s job and experiencing is the job of our heart. So close the valve of brain and open heart’s valve and go in close proximity to the almighty.
