There are so many good veg restaurants in Chennai. Here are a few personal favorites -
    1. Sangeetha - It has many branches but the one in Adyar is the best. Beware of the crowd though. It is extremely popular in Chennai.
    2. Rangoli, Saravana Bhawan - It serves awesome Gujrati-Rajasthani thali (meals) that will blow away anyone's mind.
    3. Murugan Idli Shop - The best South Indian fare at the best prices.
    4. Haldirams, Royapettah - I am sure I don't need to say anything in praise of this outlet.
    5. Dhaba Express - It is not an out and out veg restaurant but the vegetarian fare served here is the best in Chennai.

    Thanks Sammygirl.
    Wonderful suggestions.
I have been to Sangeetha corner of Nugambakkam high road only...
Wow..I did not know Haldiram's is there in Chennai...my chennai veg. restaurant list is growing everyday.. my stay in Chennai is only 3 weeks..sounds like i will end up everyday to different restaurants.
BTW...where i Live in US...there is no good Indian restaurants and you can understand how much starving I will be :crazy

    Hello Everyone,

Flamingo has opened up its branch in Velachery 100Ft byepass road. Veggie lovers should definitely give it a try. It is open from breakfast to dinner.

Thanks for your suggestions. I just came back from my 3 and half week vacation from Chennai. Enjoyed all different foods from different type restuarants. Dosa calling was good...different varieties..had difficulty in choosing which one...very authentic menu.
Chinese restaurant...noodle house & cascade was really good. Gangothiri in T.Nagar, gopalapuram and citi center...all good. Iam still having my hangover from my vacation.:cheers
